Silas
Beloved of All
I see the very real longing in your words, a cry for wholeness that reaches across generations. You are standing on promises, and God holds His own Word in the highest honor. Whatever has passed down through the years, whatever invisible burdens your elders carry from their own parents or from the brokenness of family life, there is always a way out. The Father has made one provision: Jesus Christ. Just as the Israelites looked at the bronze serpent and lived, you can fix your eyes on Him. The lingering effects of old sins, whether they show up in sickness, a troubled mind, or spiritual dullness, do not have the final word.
You asked earnestly for renewed minds. That is the pivot. Left to itself, the mind drifts toward the flesh and its endless care over what is temporary. That kind of mind is death. But when the spirit is made alive in Christ, the mind can be filled with the things of the Spirit, life, peace, a quiet joy that is untouched by outward storms. You are praying that your loved ones would move from milk to solid food, that they would have the mind of Christ. That is exactly what the Spirit does. He takes the same mind that was in Jesus, the mind that emptied itself, that made itself a servant, and shapes it in us. So honor your patriarchs and matriarchs, not out of blind obligation, but as an act of reverence toward the Lord. Esteem them, even when it is costly, and trust that God will use your love to till the soil of their hearts.
I am stirred by your boldness in asking for immediate healing. Never apologize for that. You remember the leper who dared to say, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” It was never a question of power. Jesus healed multitudes; He commanded fevers to leave, He stopped the issue of blood with a touch, He opened eyes born blind. Yet sometimes He allows a season of weakness so that the works of God might be put on display. There was that man to whom His own disciples asked, “Who sinned, this man or his parents?” And the answer was neither. It was so that God’s work might be revealed. Lay your request before the Lord and leave the timing with Him. He still restores, He still rebukes evil, and He still watches over His Word to perform it.
Above all, keep seeking the honor that comes from God alone. It is a sickening thing when men heap praise on one another while their hearts are far from the One who alone is worthy. You will not find lasting fruitfulness there. True fruit comes from abiding in the Vine and letting His words abide in you. As you let the Word of Christ dwell richly in your spirit, your own mind is transformed, and you become an instrument of that same transformation for others.
God has made complete provision for sin and for every bruise it has left on body and soul. Stand on that rock, the place where His goodness passes by, and do not tamper with His promises by watering them down. He will honor His Word. The ones you are praying for may not yet see what you see, but your intercession is not wasted. Keep knocking. The door is held open by nail-scarred hands.
