Dear fellow believers, I have been battling a cold, cough, and hoarse voice for nearly two months. To such an extent that I could lose my much-needed part-time job. You see, at work, the Lord Jesus is blessing me immensely. Two months ago, I was Employee of the Month, and this month they have put me in the spotlight as a star performer. You understand that this is causing a great deal of jealousy among certain colleagues. Many of them practice occultism, and they are trying to get rid of me using their idols. I need my voice badly. That is how I earn my living, and it is no wonder that I am being attacked so much for it. I have never been sick for so long. Could you please pray for me? God's blessing.

We have heard your request and we join with you in prayer together in Jesus' name for your healing and for His protection over your life and your work.

We rejoice with you that the Lord Jesus has been blessing you so abundantly in your part-time job, that you were honored as Employee of the Month and now again as a star performer. We understand how precious this work is to you and how difficult it has been to battle this cold, cough and hoarseness for nearly two months, especially when your voice is the very means by which you earn your living. We also hear your concern about jealousy from colleagues and the fear that those who practice occultism and serve idols are trying to harm you.

We want to encourage you first that those idols have no power over a child of God. As it is written, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one, 1 Corinthians 8:4, and those idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands, Psalm 115:4. The enemy may try to use fear and intimidation, but we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we put on the whole armor of God, Ephesians 6:11, and we rest in this promise, You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4, and No weapon that is formed against you will prevail, Isaiah 54:17. You do not need to fear their idols or their jealousy, for He who keeps you will not slumber.

We also lift up your body to the Lord who is our healer. He is Yahweh who heals you, Exodus 15:26, and it is He who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:3. By His wounds you have been healed, Isaiah 53:5. We pray that you will also seek wise medical care if you have not already done so, for nearly two months of persistent cough and hoarseness should be examined, and God often works His healing through physicians as well as through prayer. Do not neglect to care for the body He has given you.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You for our brother or sister who loves You and seeks You. We thank You for the favor You have shown in the workplace and for the gifts You have given. Lord, we ask You to touch this body now. Lay Your healing hand upon the throat, the lungs, the voice, and take away this lingering cold and cough. Restore the voice fully, Lord, that it may be used again for honest work and for Your glory. We pray, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17, let this be true in this life. We ask for strength and endurance, and for Your peace to guard the heart from fear and anxiety.

We also ask for Your protection over the workplace. Cover this dear one under Your wings, for He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, Psalm 91:1. Let no scheme formed in jealousy or in occult practice prosper or take root. Convict those colleagues of the emptiness of idols and draw them to the truth of Jesus, and help our loved one to love enemies and pray for those who may wish harm, remembering that You call us to bless and not curse. Grant favor with supervisors and security in this much-needed job according to Your will, and let this testimony of healing and protection bring glory to Jesus alone.

We pray the prayer of faith that the prayer of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, James 5:15. Strengthen faith where it is weary from long illness, renew hope, and let Your joy be strength each day. We trust You as the Good Shepherd and Great Physician.

We encourage you to continue to walk faithfully, to forgive those who are jealous, to keep your conduct excellent at work, and to fill your mouth and heart with praise and Scripture rather than fear. Keep praying in Jesus' name, keep thanking Him for the healing that is coming, and rest knowing that your life and your voice are in His hands.

Thank you for letting us pray with you. Carrying a cough and hoarse voice for two months is exhausting, especially when your voice is how you provide for yourself. We hear how much this job matters to you, and how discouraging it feels to go from being celebrated at work to worrying you might lose that same job because you are unwell.

We will be praying for your healing and for wisdom as you seek care. A cough and loss of voice lasting this long is something to have checked promptly, so we encourage you to see a doctor or clinic soon if you have not already, and to follow their guidance. We pray alongside that medical care, not in place of it, asking God to give you clarity about next steps and strength for each day.

We also hear the pressure you feel at work and the sense that you are under spiritual attack. It is understandable to feel vulnerable when you are run down and when workplace tensions are high. We do not need to be afraid that others have power over us, we can rest in knowing Christ keeps us secure, and we are asking Him to guard your heart with peace, to protect your work, and to give you wisdom in how you relate to colleagues during this strained time.

If you are able, let a trusted pastor or mature believer know how you are doing so you are not carrying this alone, and keep your employer informed simply about your health needs.

Father, we lift our brother to You. Touch his body and restore his voice, guide those who care for him, provide for his job, and quiet his heart with Your nearness and protection. Give him rest and renewed strength. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry for healing has been heard and we bring it before the Lord with you. To be deprived of your voice for nearly two months, when your daily bread depends upon it, is a sore trial, and to feel the added weight of jealousy and spiritual opposition at your workplace makes the burden heavier still. We do not take lightly what you suffer.

We take comfort from the Word that there is healing in Christ. As it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and not only the fruit but the very leaves, the least things about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when He healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, showing that pardon and healing are joined together in His hand. See in Him the great conduit Head, from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below. We pray that He who is able to do great things which we cannot comprehend will lay His pardoning and healing hand upon you.

We also remember Job, who in all his losses and afflictions sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He kept right with God under trial, and God upheld him and at the last restored him. If the Lord could uphold Job, He can support you. Do not give way to unbelieving speeches, but make your approach unto the Lord in childlike confidence even when He seems to frown. Your days have a voice, and this long season of sickness has its own lesson, calling you to draw nearer to God than before.

Concerning those who practice occultism and trust in idols, be not afraid. An idol is nothing in the world, and those who trust in them trust in vanity. The voice of the Lord is powerful and full of majesty, it divides the flames of fire and shakes the wilderness, and no enchantment can stand against it. Persecution, even when it comes as slander and venomous spite and jealousy, has often been used by God to keep His people separate from the world and to drive the Christian nearer to his God. How many prayers have been offered as the result of such opposition that would never have been offered else. The Lord who blessed you as Employee of the Month and as a star performer is able to keep you in your place so long as it is His will, and to provide for you if He appoints another way.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, we come through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Look in compassion upon this Your servant who has been long afflicted with cold and cough and hoarseness of voice. You know how greatly this voice is needed for daily work, and how long this sickness has continued. We beseech You, if it be Your gracious will, to restore health and to renew strength, as You renewed Job and made his glory fresh in him. Touch the throat and lungs, give healing leaves from the Tree of Life, and let the voice be restored to speak and to labour and to praise You.

Keep this Your child from fear of idols and from every evil work of darkness. Cover Your servant under Your wings, let no weapon formed against Your people prosper, and turn the hearts of those who oppose, that they may see Your goodness and forsake their vanity. Grant patience under trial, faith that does not charge You foolishly, and a quiet confidence that all flesh is grass but Your Word stands forever. Provide for daily needs, guard the employment You have given, and above all give a deeper knowledge of Yourself, that hearing You speak, Your servant may say with Job, now mine eye seeth Thee.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns and in whom alone is healing and pardon. Amen.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your request has been heard and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord.

We are sorry to hear of this prolonged sickness and the burden you carry with your voice and your work. To be ill for nearly two months with a cold, cough and hoarseness is a heavy trial, and we understand your concern for your job, especially when you have been given such favor there. We thank God with you for the blessing you have seen in your work, and we will pray that He sustains you.

We also hear your fear about jealousy from colleagues and their involvement in occult practices. Hear the comfort of Scripture that those who are in Christ are held securely in His hand, and idols have no true power over those who belong to Him. The enemy would have us live in fear, but our life and health and work rest in the hands of God alone. As Scripture teaches, we will have tribulation in this world, and the life of faith is often a narrow way with trials, yet God is faithful to keep, to strengthen and to deliver according to His wisdom and mercy. Do not give place to fear, but fix your hope on Christ, continue in prayer, and walk in integrity and kindness before your colleagues even when you are under pressure.

We will pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we lift up our brother to You. You know his body and his need. We ask for Your healing hand upon his throat, lungs and voice. Take away this cold and cough, restore his voice fully, and give him strength and health again. We ask for Your protection over his work, that You would provide for his needs and give him favor and peace in his workplace. Guard his heart from fear and fill him with Your peace, reminding him that You are sovereign over all things and that nothing can separate him from Your love in Christ. Bring conviction and grace to those around him who do not yet know You, and help him to be a light to them. Grant wisdom to doctors and all who may help him, and lead him to the right care for this long illness. We ask this in the saving name of Jesus Christ alone, our only hope and healer. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord daily, to rest as you are able, and because these symptoms have lasted so long, to seek care from a doctor if you have not already done so, so that any underlying cause can be treated. Keep bringing your voice and your work before God, for He hears. He will give you what you need for each day, and whether through swift healing or through sustained grace in weakness, He will not abandon you.

We are praying with you for complete recovery, for peace in place of anxiety, and for strength to continue faithfully in the place where God has put you.
