Healing

Thank you for sharing these needs and allowing us to pray with you. We are bringing each of these requests before the Lord and asking for His mercy and help.

We believe that God is able to heal and that healing is for today. At the same time we recognize there is much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some are healed instantly and others more gradually. The Bible shows us both. There is one account where Jesus healed a man in stages, and that reminds us that God often works through a process. Any true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or through the natural processes He has built into our bodies. He created our bodies and He created the ways our bodies recover, so a gradual recovery is no less divine than an immediate touch.

We also live in a very materialistic culture that can make it hard to trust God for what we cannot see, and we do not want to turn prayer into a show or a frenzy. There is a lot of phoniness that has been done in the name of healing, but simple, sincere prayer offered in faith to the Father in the name of Jesus is what Scripture calls us to. James tells us to pray for the sick and to trust the Lord, and the Psalms remind us that He is the one who forgives and heals and has compassion on us.

So we are praying simply and sincerely for you. We ask the Lord to ease the cough and bring clear breathing, to reduce the swelling in the legs and feet and to bring comfort and strength to the body, and to relieve the pain in the back. We also ask Him to provide for the need for work and to open the door for a call to come in, and to give peace and provision while you wait. We pray too for His healing in every way, not only physically but also in mind and heart, where worry and weariness can leave wounds of their own.

If you are under a doctor's care, continue to follow that care and use the means God has provided, trusting that He works through those means as well. Keep bringing these needs to Him daily and trusting His wisdom and compassion to do what is best.

Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus and lift up these needs to You. Please touch the lungs and stop the coughing, ease the swelling in legs and feet, and take away the pain in the back. Please provide work and cause the needed call to come. Give faith, peace, and strength to trust You whether Your answer comes quickly or over time, and let Your healing power be known in body, mind and spirit. We ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.
