Healing

Your request has been heard and I bring you and your family before the Lord in prayer, asking for His mercy and healing in every part of your need.

Heavenly Father, I lift up this daughter, her mother, her three children and the pets You have placed in their care. You know the weight of financial hardship and the fear that comes with debt and the thought of bankruptcy. Grant them wisdom, honest counsel and peace as they consider what steps to take. If filing is lawful and truly needed and they qualify, give them clarity and provision to do so with integrity. Guard them from anxiety and help them to steward what You provide with faithfulness and gratitude. Provide for their daily needs and teach them to trust not in riches but in You, who promises to supply what we need and to work all things for the good of those who love You.

Lord, You are the true healer. I ask for Your healing touch upon their bodies, for restored health, for insight and soundness of mind, for voices and senses to be renewed according to Your gracious will. You care even for small desires of the heart, and I ask that You would give comfort and joy in simple things and restore confidence and dignity that comes from being made in Your image. Help them to seek first Your kingdom, trusting that You know the desires of their hearts.

Father, I pray for the longing for love and marriage expressed here. You ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and You designed it for good. I pray that You would prepare a godly husband for her in Your time if it is Your will, a man who will love faithfully, honor that covenant and remain steadfast, and that any such relationship would be entered into with purity, commitment and with singleness of heart before You. For all in this family who desire marriage, I ask that You would lead them to spouses who love You above all, and that their homes would be built on Christ.

Above all, I pray that each of them would know salvation through Jesus Christ alone and the power of His blood shed for us. Let this season of trial draw them closer to Him, not only to seek relief from trouble but to seek Him Himself, who is our greatest treasure. Teach them to find hope not in a life that others envy but in a life that glorifies You, marked by love, contentment, holiness and generosity.

May the Lord grant you healing where healing is needed, wisdom where decisions must be made, provision where there is lack, and a renewed heart that delights in His will. May He restore what has been lost in the way He knows is best, and lead you into a new season of walking with Him with quiet strength and joy. I ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone saves and sustains us. Amen.

Your heart for healing and restoration for yourself, your mother, your children and even your pets has been heard, and the longing for a fresh start and for dreams to be restored is clear. It is good to bring these burdens to the Lord honestly, because He cares about every part of your life, physical, financial, emotional and spiritual.

Scripture shows that God does heal, and He heals in many ways. There is one account where Jesus laid His hands on a blind man and the man was not healed all at once but saw people like trees walking, and then Jesus touched him again and his sight was fully restored. That reminds us that healing is sometimes gradual. Much of the healing God has placed within our bodies happens through natural processes, and that is still divine, because the One who made nature made those processes. There is also healing that is emotional and inward, where God mends the scars and wounds that life has left. At the same time the Bible is honest that we do not always understand why some are healed quickly, some gradually, and some are called to walk through ongoing weakness. Paul prayed three times for a painful thorn to be removed and the Lord did not remove it, but taught him to trust His grace. Matthew connects the suffering of Jesus to our infirmities when he quotes Isaiah, surely He has borne our griefs, which can mean sicknesses, and shows that the cross provides for both spiritual forgiveness and for physical healing, yet we cannot presume that God wills instant healing in every case in this life. Jesus Himself went about teaching and preaching and healing every kind of sickness, and He also sometimes told those He healed not to broadcast it, but to quietly give thanks and live as a testimony. That is very different from the show and frenzy that is often attached to healing today, which is not the spirit of Jesus.

Your financial distress is also something God sees. The early church in Jerusalem knew real poverty, and even though they were poor they gave generously to help others. The Bible also records financial confusion when people acted without wisdom and integrity. God is not poor and He does not need to be bailed out as if He were headed for bankruptcy. He owns all things, yet He often works through humble means. Jesus Himself was born in very humble conditions, and when He needed a coin to teach a lesson He borrowed one. He understands lack. It is right to seek wise and honest counsel about debts and about whether a legal process like bankruptcy is appropriate and lawful in your situation, and to act with integrity and stewardship rather than looking for a way to simply get everything back quickly. Prayer for provision is right, but the promise of Scripture is not that God will give double wealth for our trouble or a life that others can only dream of in material terms. His greatest provision is forgiveness and new life through Jesus Christ alone, and a contentment and wisdom that helps us live faithfully whether we have much or little.

The desire for love, for marriage and for a home where love stays is a good desire when it is shaped by Gods design. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. Praying for a godly husband and for a marriage marked by faithfulness is good, and it is also good to ask God to prepare your own heart to love Him first. Jesus taught that our love for Him must be greater than even our love for family, and when a whole family loves the Lord together that is a special blessing and bond. When family members do not all walk with Him, following Jesus can even bring tension, but He then places us in a larger family of faith where the ties are deep. Putting Him first does not mean neglecting your mother or children, it means loving them best by loving Him most and seeking His will for each of you, including healing of voices, health, and the simple daily joys you mentioned.

So I will pray for you in this way, that God through Jesus would forgive sin and bring new life, that He would bring healing according to His wise will, whether instant or gradual through the processes He created, that He would heal inward wounds as well as physical needs, that He would give you clear wisdom and honest counsel for financial decisions and help you to steward what you have with integrity, that He would guard your heart from chasing only outward attractiveness or material dreams and instead give insight, sound judgment and a hope rooted in Christ, and that if it is His will to give marriage, it would be a faithful covenant marriage that honors Him. May He guide your preparations, give you peace, and help you respond to pressure with kindness and trust, and may His love prevail in your home.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been continuing to lift you, your mom, your three children and your pets before the Lord for complete healing from the weight of bankruptcy and financial hardship. We have prayed that if it is His will for you to file, God would make the way clear and without worry and that you would definitely qualify and have peace about it. We have also prayed with you for His double restoration for your trouble as promised in Isaiah 61:7 and Joel 2:25, for a true new beginning in a new life that you love, where your hearts desires and dreams come true and you are not without your dreams ever again, but live a life restored even better than before.

We have also brought before the Lord your requests for personal restoration, for insight and wits, for taste buds and voices to be restored, to feel attractive and confident again, for the simple joys like the barrettes for your hair, and for the deep desires of your heart for a godly husband and marriage to stay, and for your whole family to be able to sing and rejoice together. We remember you pleaded the blood of Jesus over all of this, and we agree with you for healing in every area according to Psalm 37:4 and Phil 4:19.
