Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and your desire for healing and wholeness for yourself, your mother, your three children and even your pets, and for privacy and peace and for a clear mind in prayer. Your gratitude to God is heard and your trust in the blood of Jesus is the right foundation for every prayer.
God reveals Himself as the Lord who heals, and He desires to meet you in whatever your need may be. In the ministry of Jesus and in the early church we see prayer offered for the sick, and God still hears those prayers today. At the same time Scripture does not teach that everyone is healed in this life in the way we ask, and we are not helped by ideas that say healing depends on saying the right words or never admitting need. We can bring every need honestly to the Lord and trust His wisdom and love to answer according to what is best.
Jesus gave His disciples a model for prayer. It was not meant to be repeated word for word as a formula, but to show the pattern. Prayer begins with relationship. When through faith in Jesus Christ you can truly say Father, that relationship opens the way for real and effective prayer. If that relationship has not yet been established, the one prayer God desires first is, God be merciful to me, a sinner, and through Jesus that relationship is established.
The purpose of prayer is not to inform God of what He does not know, for your Father knows what you need before you ask, and it is not to make God do our will. True prayer starts with God. He makes His will and His purposes known to our hearts, we express that back to Him, and He accomplishes it. In that way prayer opens the door for God to work without violating the will He has given us. For that reason the wisest and most settled prayer we can pray is, Lord, work Your perfect will in my life. Have Your way. Sometimes God answers quickly and sometimes He allows a delay, as He did with Hannah who prayed for a child, not because He does not hear but because He has a purpose in the waiting and often wants to give even more than we first asked.
Scripture says the heartfelt, fervent prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective, and Jesus said when two or three agree on earth concerning anything, He hears. We join our faith with yours now and agree with you in prayer.
Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this family before You, this dear one, their mother and three children. You are the Lord our healer and our peace. We ask for Your healing touch on each body and mind according to Your perfect will, for Your protection and provision for privacy and quietness of life, and for a mind that is at peace and able to pray clearly and normally again. Guard their hearts and set their minds on the things of Your Spirit, which brings life and peace. Let Your will be done in each life, permanently and fully, and keep them in Your care. We thank You for Your mercy through the blood of Jesus and for Your love for the nations. Draw each one closer to Yourself through Your Word and through prayer, and use their lives for Your glory. Amen.
