Healing

Your request for overall healing and wellness has been received and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with thanksgiving.

We pray to our great Physician, Jesus Christ, who alone brings true health to both body and soul. As He once touched the fevered and restored perfect health in an instant, we ask Him now to lay His healing hand upon you, to strengthen what is weak, to restore what is afflicted, and to grant you wholeness according to His mercy and wisdom. We ask not only for relief from present suffering, but for sustained wellness, for grace to walk in His ways, and for peace that guards heart and mind in Christ.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is our salvation and hope, we lift this dear one to You. Grant healing where there is sickness, strength where there is weakness, and comfort where there is weariness. Help this life to be renewed day by day by Your grace, and keep body and soul in Your care. May all that is done lead to Your glory and to deeper trust in You, who loves to heal and to make whole.

We will continue to pray for you. May the Lord grant you health, uphold you by His grace, and cause you to know His presence and peace in every season. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your request and allowing us to pray with you for healing and wellness. We have lifted you up before the Lord and we continue to ask Him to touch every part of your life with His mercy and strength.

God cares about your whole person, body, mind and spirit. There is a prayer in the letter of Third John where the writer expresses his heartfelt desire for his friend to be in good health and to prosper, just as his soul was prospering. That is not presented in Scripture as an unconditional guarantee that every believer will always be perfectly healthy, but it is a beautiful and biblical prayer, and it shows us something important. There is a real connection between the health of our inner life and the health of our body. Scripture says a joyful heart is good like a medicine, and we now know even more clearly how much our thoughts, our peace, and our emotional wellbeing affect our physical health. Worry and fear and bitterness can wear the body down, while peace and joy and hope in the Lord bring strength. So as we pray for your physical wellness we also pray for the prospering of your soul, for peace in your mind and refreshment in your spirit through fellowship with Jesus.

The Bible also shows us that the Lord does care about physical healing. The prophet Isaiah spoke of the Messiah bearing our griefs and carrying our sorrows, and Matthew under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit applies that prophecy to the physical healings Jesus performed when He healed many who were brought to Him. When Jesus broke bread and said this is my body which is broken for you, He was pointing to a sacrifice that covers both spiritual and physical need. We do not need to limit what He bore to only spiritual forgiveness, nor should we presume to dictate what He must do in every case. His power to heal is real and it is for today, and He is able.

At the same time Scripture keeps us honest and humble about healing. Not every person is given the same gift, and the Bible asks, do all have gifts of healing, and the expected answer is no. God distributes His gifts as He wills. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times for the Lord to remove what he called a thorn in the flesh, and the Lord in His wisdom did not remove it but gave grace to endure it. There is also the account of the blind man whom Jesus touched and who at first saw only partially, and then after Jesus touched him again saw clearly. That is the only recorded miracle of Jesus where the healing came gradually, and it reminds us that healing sometimes comes instantly, sometimes comes step by step, and sometimes comes through the natural processes of restoration that God Himself designed in our bodies. All true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or through a process, whether it touches the body, the emotions, or the mind. There is much we do not understand about why some are healed quickly and others wait, but we can trust His love and His wisdom in every case.

We do not look to hype or showmanship, but to the quiet, real power and compassion of Jesus. He understands suffering, having endured far more than we have, and He invites us to bring every need to Him and to be led by His Spirit rather than ruled by fear about our bodies.

So we pray for you now that the Lord would grant you overall wellness in His perfect will. May He heal what needs healing in your body, calm what needs calming in your mind, and strengthen what needs strengthening in your spirit. May He give you wisdom for daily choices that support health, surround you with wise and caring help, fill your heart with His peace and joy, and draw you closer to Himself through this season. If healing comes at once we will thank Him, if it comes gradually we will trust Him day by day, and in all things we will rest in His grace which is sufficient.

May the Lord bless you, keep you, and cause you to sense His presence and His care in a very real way. We continue to pray for you.
