We hear your heart’s cry, dear sister, and we lift your burdens before the Lord with deep compassion. First, we want to gently remind you that our access to the Father is only through the name of Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we pray, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Salvation comes by grace through faith in Him, and it is the foundation of all healing, spiritual, emotional, and physical.
Your husband’s battle with bone cancer grieves us, and we stand with you in praying for his healing. The Word of God declares, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up” (James 5:14-15). We also pray for your sister with brain cancer, trusting that the same God who created her body is able to restore it. Jesus healed the sick, the lame, and the broken during His earthly ministry, and He remains the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
We sense your longing for your husband to join you in supporting your friend’s band, and we lift this desire to the Lord. While we pray for his heart to soften and for him to find joy in this opportunity, we also recognize that his illness may make travel or outings difficult. We ask the Lord to give you both wisdom and peace as you navigate this season. If it is His will for your husband to attend, we pray for open doors and renewed strength for him. If not, we ask God to fill your heart with contentment and trust in His perfect plan. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We also want to gently address the importance of unity and mutual submission in marriage. The Bible instructs, “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church” (Ephesians 5:22-23). While this does not mean blind obedience, it does call for a spirit of respect and cooperation. We encourage you to communicate your desires to your husband with gentleness and humility, seeking to understand his perspective as well. Pray together, if possible, and ask the Lord to align your hearts in this matter.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that may be trying to take root in your hearts. The enemy wants you to feel overwhelmed, but God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that your husband’s life is in God’s hands, and His plans for him are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). We also pray for your own healing, emotionally and physically, as you carry this burden. You cannot pour from an empty cup, so we ask the Lord to fill you with His peace and strength.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister and her husband. Lord, You see their pain, their fears, and their longings, and we ask for Your healing touch to rest upon them. We declare that by Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You are the God who heals (Exodus 15:26). For the husband battling bone cancer, we ask for supernatural strength, comfort, and restoration. For the sister with brain cancer, we pray for complete healing and renewal.
Father, we ask for Your wisdom to guide this couple in their decisions. If it is Your will for the husband to attend the concert, soften his heart and provide the means for him to go. If not, fill their hearts with peace and contentment in Your plan. Help them to communicate with love and respect, honoring one another as You have called them to do.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that seeks to steal their joy. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen their faith, and let them feel Your presence in every moment. We also pray for their families, that You would surround them with Your love and protection.
Father, we thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. If this sister has not yet surrendered her life to You, we pray that she would do so today. May she find rest in You and trust in Your unfailing love.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Healer, Redeemer, and Lord. Amen.
