Disciple of Prayer
I had a very bad heart attack 2½ months ago and I'm just not doing well. I am saved but am dealing with anxiety, discouragement and depression as well as the physical issues. I need a touch from the lord

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you navigate this difficult season of healing, both physically and emotionally. Your heart attack was a severe trial, and it is understandable that the aftermath has brought anxiety, discouragement, and even depression. But we want you to know that you are not alone. The Lord sees your pain, hears your cries, and is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). He is your healer, your strength, and your peace in the midst of this storm.

First, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that has tried to take hold of your heart. The Word of God tells us, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy would love for you to dwell in anxiety and hopelessness, but we declare that you are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life over your body, mind, and spirit, trusting that the Lord is restoring you day by day.

We also want to encourage you to lean fully on the Lord during this time. It is easy to feel overwhelmed when our bodies are weak, but remember that His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Even when you feel like giving up, the Lord is holding you. "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). He is not distant or indifferent to your suffering, He is right there with you, carrying you through.

Physically, we pray for complete restoration of your heart. We ask the Lord to strengthen every weakened vessel, to mend what has been damaged, and to renew your energy. "He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). We also pray for wisdom for your doctors and medical team, that they would be guided by the Lord's hand in your care.

Emotionally, we pray for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We ask the Lord to lift the weight of discouragement and replace it with hope. "Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God" (Psalm 42:11). We declare that joy will return to your spirit, and that the Lord will fill you with His comfort.

Spiritually, we encourage you to draw near to God through prayer, worship, and the reading of His Word. Even when you don't feel like it, press into His presence. "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8). Let His promises be the anchor for your soul. And if you ever feel like your faith is wavering, remember that Jesus is interceding for you at the right hand of the Father (Romans 8:34). He knows your struggles, and He is praying for you even now.

We also want to gently remind you that healing is a process, and it's okay to take things one day at a time. Don't be afraid to ask for help from your church family, trusted friends, or even professional counselors if needed. The Lord often works through the hands and hearts of His people to bring comfort and support.

Now, let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in need of Your healing touch. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who knits us together and knows every part of our being. We ask that You would restore strength to his/her body, mend his/her heart, and bring complete healing according to Your will. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear, anxiety, and depression that has tried to take root. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and we ask that You would fill him/her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Lord, we pray for emotional healing as well. Lift the weight of discouragement and replace it with hope. Let him/her feel Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are close to the brokenhearted. Renew his/her mind with Your truth, and let Your Word be a lamp to his/her feet and a light to his/her path (Psalm 119:105). Father, we also ask that You would surround him/her with Your people, those who can encourage, pray, and support him/her during this time.

We trust in Your faithfulness, Lord. You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We declare that by Your stripes, he/she is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we believe that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen his/her faith, Lord, and let him/her experience Your love in a fresh and powerful way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Hold on, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He is not done with you yet. Your story is not over, it is being written by the hand of a loving and faithful God. Keep pressing into Him, and trust that He will bring beauty from these ashes. You are loved, you are valued, and you are being prayed for. May the Lord bless you with His peace and healing as you continue to seek Him.

We hear how heavy these past months have been. A major heart attack doesn't just affect the body, it shakes the whole person, and the anxiety, discouragement, and depression you're describing are a deeply common part of that kind of trauma. This isn't a sign of weak faith; it's the normal aftermath of a life-altering event. Your mind and body are reacting to a real threat to your life, and that takes time to settle.

One of the most practical and faithful steps you can take right now is to talk honestly with your doctor about the full scope of what you're experiencing, not just the physical symptoms, but the anxiety and depression too. These are medical issues following a cardiac event, and your physician needs to know about all of them to support your recovery well. Seeking medical help isn't a lack of trust in God; it is cooperating with the healing resources He provides.

In the meantime, on the harder days, sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is simply to point ourselves toward five minutes at a time rather than trying to tackle the whole future. When the fear rises, you might quietly name what is true in this exact moment: I am still here. I am held by Christ. This moment is not the whole story.

Let's pray.

Lord Jesus, we lift up our friend to You right now. You know the fear that has gripped this heart, and You know the physical weakness that remains. Please bring steady healing to this body, calm to this mind, and a tangible sense of Your presence in this time of recovery. Grant wisdom and compassion to every doctor, and give this dear one the courage to face each day with fragile but real hope. Surround them with Your peace that doesn't ignore the pain but holds it within Your promise. We ask this in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Yet here you are, laid low in body and soul, crying out for a touch from the Lord. That cry itself is not a sign of death, but of life. The heart that perceives its own sickness has not been utterly hardened. The Lord has given you a heart to perceive your need of Him, and that is no small mercy.

Consider the woman who pressed through the crowd. She said, "If I may touch but His clothes, I shall be whole." She did not lay the stress on her own touch, nor on the strength of her grasp, but on Him. The virtue to heal is all in Christ. Not in your prayers, not in your tears, not in the strength of your faith, but in Him. A mass of spiritual disease though you may be, the moment you touch Him, His virtue will battle with your disease. The leaves of that Tree are for the healing of the nations, not only the fruit, but the very leaves. A word of His, a promise recognized as His and brought home to the heart by the Spirit, carries medicine for head and heart, for conscience and imagination. Are you sick at heart? Here is your cure.

You say you are saved, yet anxiety and discouragement plague you. Remember, the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when He comes, the inhabitant shall not say, "I am sick." Pardon and healing are one in Him. Has He not said, "Let not your heart be troubled"? The command carries the enabling. Look to the foundation of your faith once more. You are not called to generate a certain feeling, but to look to Christ on the Cross. Lift your eyes, even now, and touch the hem of His garment. Do not be content merely to press with the curious crowd, getting near to Him outwardly yet missing the personal touch of faith. Stretch out your hand. He is not reluctant; He delights to save sinners, to heal the broken in heart.

Perhaps you have prayed and seem unanswered. It is no proof that your prayer is wrong. The Lord may delay, but His delay is not denial. Faint not, but continue to pray. Though the answer tarries, you shall certainly have the desire of your heart if it is fixed on Him. I have known what it is to be bowed down with depression, even to the very gates of Hell through sorrow of heart, when but a youth. And I found Him faithful. Cast yourself absolutely into His hands. If you are saved because His loving heart would save you, and not because you deserved it, then you will love Him and live to Him. The healing leaves are for you. May the Lord grant you according to your own heart, and fulfill all your counsel, as you seek no other healer but Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Do not let your heart be troubled over this heavy blow your body has taken. You know you are saved; yet the enemy seizes the opportunity of your weakness to heap anxiety and dark discouragement upon you. But listen to the voice of your Master: "Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." This sickness is not a crushing weight He has hung upon you; it is permitted that you might cast yourself entirely upon His gentleness. Do not fear that you are far from His touch because your feelings are cold and your prayers seem dry. The Spirit moves where He wills, like the wind: you hear the sound of it, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with every one born of the Spirit. Do not be over-anxious about the manner of His working. Even now, in the hidden chambers of your heart, He is doing a work you cannot perceive.

Pray, then, not merely with many words, but with the inward cry of the heart. Moses cried out, and yet no voice was heard, and God said to him, "Why do you cry to Me?" For the Lord hears the contrite spirit. In your bed of illness, lift up psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God in your heart; this is not outward display, but a sacrifice that strengthens the inner man. And do not imagine that you are abandoned because help seems slow. A tree may receive many strokes and not fall, yet after many blows it is brought down all at once. So the remedies of grace often work quietly, and then bear fruit suddenly. Hold fast, then, under this pruning, and wait for the Lord. He is the one who has led captivity captive, who divides the spoils and proclaims release to the captives. He who restored the broken in body and gave sight to the blind is more than able to touch your body and your soul. Only let not your desire for health become a fresh occasion for anxiety. For the Apostle says, "Why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?" Meaning that if you receive your condition with thanksgiving to God, it cannot make you unclean; rather, it becomes a medicine for your soul. Trust the Physician. He wounds that He might heal; He casts down that He might raise up. This blow is not unto death, but that the power of God might be shown in you.

Take courage, then. The enemy whispers that God has forgotten you because your feelings are numb; but the Scripture stands sure: even if the fig tree does not blossom and the vine yields no fruit, yet I will rejoice in the Lord. The morning comes, and the shadows will flee away, and the Sun of Righteousness shall rise with healing in His wings.
