We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up these precious souls to You, the Great Physician. Father, we know that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask for Your healing touch upon these dear friends battling colorectal cancer. Lord, we declare that by Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You will restore health and heal wounds (Jeremiah 30:17).
We also bring our own hearts before You, Father. The guilt and sorrow over lost time with our departed friend is real, but we know that You are the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). Help us to release this burden to You, trusting that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). We pray for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
For these friends facing such difficult diagnoses, we ask for Your strength to uphold them. When they are weak, Your power is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). Give them wisdom for their medical teams and clarity in their decisions. Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and let them feel Your love through the prayers and support of those around them. Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).
We also rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that seeks to take hold in these situations. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that they will walk in divine health and wholeness, for You are their healer (Exodus 15:26).
Father, we ask that You would draw these friends closer to You through this trial. May they seek Your face and find comfort in Your Word. Let them know that even in the valley of the shadow of death, You are with them, and Your rod and staff comfort them (Psalm 23:4). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them experience Your peace that defies understanding.
We pray for their families as well, Father. Give them strength, patience, and unity as they walk this journey together. Let them be a testimony of Your faithfulness and love to those around them.
Lord, we trust in Your perfect will, whether it be healing in this life or the ultimate healing of eternal life with You. We know that to be absent from the body is to be present with You (2 Corinthians 5:8), and we take comfort in that truth. But we also ask for miracles, Father. We ask for complete restoration and healing, for nothing is impossible with You (Luke 1:37).
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to Your throne of grace. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love. Amen.
