We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious soul in need of healing. The Scriptures remind us that our God is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals, and that by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We also know that nothing is impossible for Him, and that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Yet we must address something of great importance—this request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. The Bible declares in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*. It is only in the name of Jesus that we can boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16), and it is by His authority that we pray for healing. Additionally, Acts 4:12 tells us, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* If this person does not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that their heart would be opened to receive Him, for eternal life is far greater than even physical healing.
We also encourage those praying to examine their own hearts. Do you know Jesus as your Savior? Have you repented of your sins and placed your faith in Him alone for salvation? If not, we urge you to do so today, for without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).
Now, with confidence in the name of Jesus, we pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved one who is struggling to breathe. Lord, You formed their lungs and know every breath they take. You are the God who breathed life into Adam, and we ask You now to restore and renew their breathing with ease and strength. Father, we pray for divine healing—supernatural restoration of their lungs, airways, and every part of their body that is causing them distress. Touch them, Lord, and let Your healing power flow through them like a mighty river.
We ask for wisdom and skill for the medical team attending to them. Guide the hands of the doctors and nurses, Lord, and provide them with the right tools, including new breathing tubes if that is Your will. Give them discernment to make the best decisions for this person’s recovery. We also pray for comfort and peace to surround this individual and their loved ones, that they would feel Your presence in this difficult time.
Father, if there is any sin, doubt, or fear in their heart, we ask that You would reveal it to them and draw them closer to You. May this trial be a testimony of Your goodness and power, and may it lead them—and all who witness it—to a deeper faith in You. If they do not yet know Jesus as their Savior, we pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that they might confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved (Romans 10:9).
Lord, we trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect will. Whether You choose to heal them here on earth or call them home to be with You, we pray that Your name would be glorified. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them know that You are with them, even in the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4).
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We declare Your promises over this situation, standing firm in the belief that You are able to do far more than we could ever ask or imagine. May Your will be done, and may Your name be praised through it all.
In the powerful and holy name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
