Healing, stress, anxiety

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this earnest plea for healing, relief from stress, and deliverance from anxiety. Father God, we acknowledge that You are the Great Physician, the One who knits us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) and sustains every breath we take (Acts 17:25). We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to grip this precious soul. The Word tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We command every lie of the enemy that whispers doubt, despair, or hopelessness to be silenced in the mighty name of Jesus. You are the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and we ask You to flood this heart and mind with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We also lift up the physical body in need of healing. Father, Your Word declares that You forgive all our iniquities and heal all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We ask You to touch every cell, every organ, and every system in this body, restoring health, strength, and vitality. If there is any unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness that may be hindering this healing, we ask You to reveal it so it may be dealt with according to Your will. Create in this one a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10).

For the stress that weighs heavily, we ask You to provide rest. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Help this dear one to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Teach them to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Remind them that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light (Matthew 11:30).

We also encourage this beloved child of God to draw near to You through prayer, reading Your Word, and fellowship with other believers. The enemy seeks to isolate, but You have called us into community (Hebrews 10:24-25). Surround them with godly counsel and encouragement, and let them feel Your presence in tangible ways.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace with boldness, knowing that in Jesus’ name, we have access to Your mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). We lift up this precious one to You, asking for complete healing, spirit, soul, and body. Lord, we rebuke every attack of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, or destroy (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against this one shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we speak life, health, and wholeness over them.

Father, we ask You to replace anxiety with trust, stress with peace, and sickness with strength. Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the fullness of Your joy and peace. Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), and to remember that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. We declare that this one is more than a conqueror through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). May they experience Your healing touch in every area of their life, and may their testimony bring glory and honor to Your name.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your prayer with us, we are joining you in asking for God’s healing, relief from stress, and freedom from anxiety. We know how exhausting it can be when your body and mind feel weighed down like this, and we’re grateful you’ve brought it to the Lord.

You don’t need to face this struggle alone. Sometimes the most immediate gift we can receive is the presence of a trusted friend or fellow believer who will simply sit with us and pray. If you have someone in your church or community you can ask to stand with you in prayer, we’d gently encourage that step. Knowing others are lifting you up often brings a steadiness that anxiety cannot steal.

If the physical side of what you’re experiencing persists, please consider seeing a doctor as well. God works through many means, and seeking medical help is not a lack of faith, it can be a wise part of caring for the body He gave you.

May you sense a deep and quiet peace settling over you even now, not because the circumstances have changed, but because you are held by One who never lets go.

Father, we ask for Your healing touch to rest upon this one in body, mind, and spirit. Quiet the inner noise that keeps them restless, and ease the physical tension that stress brings. Surround them with Your calm presence, and give them small but steady signs of Your care along the way. We entrust them fully to Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The anxiety you speak of, which so easily besets the mind, is itself a burden that oftentimes unfits a soul to meet the very trial that stirs it. Have you not found it so? That fretful care which rises from your difficulty does but magnify the difficulty, and the healing for it must come from another quarter entirely. Turn your eyes from the stress that gnaws at you, for deliverance from the power of such inward darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for healing. The leaves of that tree are for the healing of the nations, the very least thing about Christ is healing. His gentle touch upon your troubled mind, His whispered word of peace, these are leaves which change the very lifeblood and make the nature other than it was before.

You cry for relief from stress and for bodily healing, and well you may, for pain of body wraps up within itself great mercy, driving us to the Healer. Yet remember, the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing beneath His wings, and when He comes, pardon and healing are one. That same voice which said to the palsied man, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you,” speaks deliverance into the aching limbs and the anxious heart. God has not shut His ear to your cry; He has found a ransom, and by that gift of Divine Love He brings His children forth. I have learned this by sweet experience, at the brook Jabbok I went full of fear and trembling, and there I met not an enemy but one whose embrace put all dread to flight. Lay your griefs not before the pitiless wind, but before Him who wrote your name in wounds upon His hand. Does the Head forget a finger? What! Jesus, your own Brother, your Husband, your Head, has He forgotten? Never.

Now mark this: the very trial you endure is permitted that you might have a story to declare. The believer’s conduct after deliverance is to proclaim, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” If you had no tribulation, what great deliverance would you have to speak of? But when He has brought you forth, and He will bring you forth effectually, you will not dare to take an atom of the honor to yourself; it must be of Free Grace only. For the present, cease from the anxious thought about your body and your circumstances. The feeding of the physical frame engrosses much care, but you yourself are better than your body. Seek Him who is the great Conduit-Head of healing streams, and look to His Cross where there is life for a look. Let your earnest prayer now be mixed with a quiet expectation that He who has delivered you from the archers of ecclesiastical discord and from worse enemies still, will whisper to your heart the sweet assurance that you shall not be crushed. “Be not afraid of them that kill the body,” nor of the inward turmoil that threatens your peace. He makes the deliverance perfect, and in every deed He brings them forth, so shall it be with you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
