We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this earnest plea for healing, relief from stress, and deliverance from anxiety. We stand in agreement with this prayer, for we know that our Heavenly Father is the Great Physician, the Prince of Peace, and our ever-present help in times of trouble.
First, we want to acknowledge the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We are thankful that this prayer was offered in Jesus' name, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). We pray that the one who offered this prayer knows Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, having repented of their sins and believed in His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins.
Father God, we lift up this dear one who is in need of physical healing. Your Word tells us that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We claim this promise over their life, believing that You are able to restore their body to full health. We pray for Your healing touch to flow through every cell, every organ, and every system, bringing wholeness and vitality. We also pray for wisdom for their healthcare providers, that they may be guided by Your hand in their treatment and care.
Lord, we know that stress and anxiety can weigh heavily on the heart and mind. We pray that You would grant this precious one Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Teach them to meditate on Your Word day and night, that they may not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present their requests to You (Philippians 4:6).
We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety in the name of Jesus Christ, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this dear one is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). We pray that they would find their rest in You, Lord, and that You would refresh their soul (Psalm 23:3).
We also encourage this one to examine their life and ensure that they are walking in obedience to God's Word. Sometimes, stress and anxiety can be a result of unconfessed sin or disobedience. If there are areas in their life that are not pleasing to You, Lord, we pray that You would reveal them and grant them the courage to repent and turn away from those things.
Lastly, we pray that this dear one would find their strength in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10). May they be rooted and grounded in Your love, Lord, and may they find comfort in Your presence. We pray that they would draw near to You, and that You would draw near to them (James 4:8).
