We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this earnest plea for healing, relief from stress, and deliverance from anxiety. We recognize that these burdens are real and can weigh heavily on the spirit, but we also know that our Heavenly Father is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
First, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity that seeks to take hold of the body. We declare that by His wounds, healing is made manifest. We pray for complete restoration, that every cell, organ, and system in the body would function according to God’s perfect design. We speak life and health over every part of the body that is weak or ailing, trusting in the Lord’s promise that He will satisfy with long life and show His salvation (Psalm 91:16). Let the healing virtue of Jesus flow through every fiber, bringing strength where there is weakness and peace where there is pain.
We also stand against the spirits of stress and anxiety, which are not from God. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We reject the lies of the enemy that whisper despair, overwhelm, and hopelessness. Instead, we declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard the heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for the mind to be renewed by the Word of God, casting down every imagination and high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5). Let the truth of God’s Word—His promises, His faithfulness, and His unfailing love—dwell richly in the heart and mind, driving out fear and replacing it with trust.
We encourage you to draw near to God, for He has promised that when we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us (James 4:8). Spend time in His presence, meditating on His Word, and allowing His peace to fill you. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6). Remember that the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He is not a distant God but One who cares deeply for you and invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are the Great Physician, the Healer of our bodies, minds, and spirits. We ask for Your healing touch to flow through every part of the body that is afflicted, bringing restoration, strength, and wholeness. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, healing is ours, and we receive it by faith.
Lord, we rebuke the spirits of stress and anxiety that seek to steal peace and joy. We break their power in the name of Jesus and command them to flee. We ask that You fill this heart with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding. Renew the mind with Your truth, replacing every lie with the promises of Your Word. Help us to trust in You with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, acknowledging You in all our ways so that You may direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Father, we thank You that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. We cast all our cares upon You, knowing that You care for us. Strengthen this faith, Lord, and help us to rest in Your unfailing love. May Your presence go before us, behind us, and beside us, guiding us into all truth and peace.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
