Healing, strength, peace

Thank you for sharing your heart for your son. We are joining you in prayer for his healing, for renewed strength, and for restored peace in Jesus name.

We pray first that grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ would rest upon you and upon your son. That greeting is found again and again in Scripture, and it reminds us that what we most need comes from Him.

You asked for healing physically, mentally and spiritually, and that is how God sees us, as whole persons. One of the apostles prayed for a dear friend that he would prosper and be in good health just as his soul was prospering. That was not given as a formula to claim, but as a loving prayer, and it shows something true that we are learning more and more. There is a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body and mind. When the heart is troubled and the mind is anxious, the body suffers. When the soul is nourished and at rest in the Lord, it brings benefit to the whole person.

We are careful to feed the physical life each day, but the spiritual life also needs daily nourishment. Without it the inner person grows weak. True strength and true peace come as we look to the Lord and trust Him. Scripture says the Lord is the strength of His people, the strength of our lives. He will give strength to His people and bless His people with peace. In the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength, and those who trust in Him find that He is their shield and help.

That peace is more than calm circumstances. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. It is a peace that passes human understanding and guards the heart and mind. Scripture says He will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. That perfect peace comes from confidence that God is in control and that He is working for good even in turmoil. Before we can know the peace of God in our hearts, we need peace with God, and that peace was made through the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. When sins are forgiven and we are no longer at war with God, the inner war ceases and deep peace can take its place. God extends that offer of peace and healing to those who are near and to those who feel far off, and He promises to heal those who come to Him.

For healing, we look to what Isaiah foretold and what the Gospel confirms. Isaiah said the chastisement that brought us peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed. Some would limit that to spiritual healing only, but Matthew, writing by the Holy Spirit, applied that very prophecy to the physical healings Jesus performed when He healed all who were brought to Him. When Jesus broke the bread and said this is my body broken for you, He was showing that His suffering covers the whole person. So we pray with confidence for your son, body, mind and spirit, asking the Lord to touch each part.

We also recognize that healing in Scripture is not always instant. One healing in the Gospels came gradually, and in many cases God works through the natural processes of healing that He Himself created in our bodies. Every healing, whether sudden or gradual, whether of the body, the mind or the emotions, is from Him. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others over time, but we trust the Healer Himself and continue to ask.

So we pray for your son now, that the Lord would touch his body and bring health, that He would heal and quiet his mind, and that He would renew his spirit through faith in Jesus Christ. We ask that God would be his strength day by day, and that as his mind and your mind are stayed on the Lord in trust, you both would know that perfect, steady peace that only Christ can give. May the Lord ordain peace for him and for you, keep you in His care, and fill your home with the assurance that He is present and at work. In the name of Jesus we ask this, trusting His mercy and love.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your son.

We have continued to lift him before the Father and have been praying for his complete healing physically mentally and spiritually. We have asked the Lord to renew his strength and to restore his peace and to pour out His blessings upon him and upon you.

We stand on the promise that He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak as it says in Isaiah 40:29 and that the peace of God which passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as it says in Philippians 4:7.

If your request was answered please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We want to keep standing with you and believing for the Lords healing and restoration for your son.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name amen.
