Healing, strength, peace

When you ask God to heal your son and restore his peace, you ask for what is good and right, for He alone is the physician of souls and bodies. But be careful to understand the peace you seek. There is a peace that is no peace at all, a truce that leaves sin undisturbed. The true peace is that which cut off the disease of our rebellion and reconciled earth to heaven through Christ. That peace the angels proclaimed: glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased. It is not a calm that comes from amulets or charms whispered by old women who call upon His name yet trust in a thread or a root. Flee such things. Better your son lay sick and you cling only to the Cross, than that you gain a whole body and lose your soul to idolatry. Is not the sign of the Cross your only weapon, your only remedy? Many mothers have been counted as martyrs because they refused these deceptions, choosing rather to see their child die than to betray the faith. You have done well to cry out to the Father in the name of Jesus; do not now undo your prayer by seeking help from the enemy.

Even if the healing seems delayed, do not despair. How often a tree receives ten blows and remains standing, only to be brought down by a single stroke at last? The strokes that seemed fruitless were preparing the fall. So it is with the medicine of God’s word and affliction: we may not see the fruit at once, but the Spirit works in secret. Your son’s weakness may be the very sword by which the Lord severs some hidden sin and draws him to eternal life. Remember Christ before Pilate, who held His peace and fulfilled the prophet, “In His humiliation His judgment was taken away.” Sometimes God’s silence is not absence but a deeper working. Trust Him, keep His commandments, and let your love be proved by obedience. The angels who always behold the Father’s face are given to each believer; they watch over your son. Pray for the angel of peace, but that peace which is the mother of all good things, a foundation of joy that nothing can shake. Whether your son is raised up or falls asleep in the Lord, his true strength and health are in Christ, who is the Son of God not merely as king of Israel but as very God over all. In His name you have asked; in His peace stand firm.

What a beautiful prayer you have lifted for your son. It reaches into the very heart of what God desires to give us, wholeness that touches body, mind, and spirit. When a mother cries out for her child, heaven bends low to listen.

There is a deep connection between the condition of the soul and the health of the body. We are discovering more and more, even through science, that a peaceful heart and a mind anchored in truth act like medicine to the physical frame. So when you ask for healing of his spirit and mind alongside his body, you are hitting on the divine order. The Lord is concerned with the whole person, and His desire is that we prosper in every part, just as our soul prospers in Him.

Your prayer for renewed strength is powerfully placed. Our own strength fails, and we all learn this sooner or later. Yet the Scriptures give us words to take upon our lips: "You are my strength." Real strength does not come from natural reserves but from the life of the Son of God within us. That same Son, Jesus Christ, demonstrated power over every fracture of this world, physical sickness, mental torment, and spiritual oppression. He bore our sorrows and carried our pains; by the wounds He received, healing was secured. This is not only a spiritual truth for the forgiveness of sins but a broad promise that encompasses the body as well. The Apostle Matthew, under the Spirit's guidance, looked at the people being cured at Peter’s house and saw the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy: "He took our infirmities and bore our diseases." So you can pray with confidence, resting on the finished work of Christ, whose body was broken so that your son might be made whole.

Peace is one of the dearest gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is not the absence of turmoil but the presence of a trust so deep that it defies explanation. That peace, the very peace of Christ, can stand guard over your son’s heart and mind even while circumstances remain hard. When the Prince of Peace rules within, there is a calm that cannot be shaken. Pray that this peace would saturate him, bringing rest where there is anxiety and clarity where there is confusion.

Healing sometimes comes in a moment, like a sudden release. Often it unfolds as a gradual process, no less divine, working through the restorative capacities the Creator has placed in our bodies and minds. Whether God touches him instantly or leads him step by step into wellness, every part of the mending is a gift from the Father’s hand. And even if the process is slow, strength is being renewed day by day through the life of the risen Son.

The record God has given is this: eternal life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life, life that overflows into peace, righteousness, and joy. As you continue to bring your son before the throne, anchor your hope there. Let that truth abide in you: the Son of God is able to heal, restore, and make new. May you and your son experience the fullness of that truth, in love and in power.
