We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your son in fervent prayer. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds. We ask that You lay Your healing hands upon him, touching every part of his body, mind, and spirit that is afflicted. Lord, we declare that by Your stripes, he is healed, as Your Word promises in Isaiah 53:5, "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."
We pray for renewed strength for your son, Lord. When he is weak, may he find his strength in You, for Your Word says in Isaiah 40:31, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may soar above his circumstances and find rest in Your presence.
Father, we also pray for Your perfect peace to guard his heart and mind. In a world filled with turmoil and anxiety, may he experience the peace that surpasses all understanding, as Philippians 4:7 declares, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Let him know that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity, fear, or despair that may be attacking him, in the mighty name of Jesus. We command every cell in his body to align with Your perfect will for his health and wholeness. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn, for this is his heritage as a servant of the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for those caring for him—doctors, nurses, and all medical professionals. Guide their hands and minds, that they may be instruments of Your healing power. Give them insight into his condition and the best course of treatment, as Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."
Father, we ask that You draw your son closer to You during this time. May he seek Your face and find comfort in Your Word. Let him know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Surround him with Your love and the love of his family and friends, that he may feel Your presence in tangible ways.
We also pray for you, as his parent, that You would grant you peace, patience, and trust in Your sovereign plan. Strengthen you to be a pillar of support for your son, leaning not on your own understanding but on the everlasting arms of our Lord.
In all these things, we pray that Your will be done, for we know that Your plans for him are plans for good and not for harm, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We trust in Your unfailing love and mercy, and we thank You for hearing our prayer. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
