Disciple of Prayer
Thank you for your continued prayers for the resolution of pain from Chemical Epididymitis. Unfortunately, the pain and discomfort continues. It’s now been more than six weeks since it began making it a chronic condition. I have a doctor’s appointment on September ###, almost two weeks from now. (My doctor doesn’t always take concerns seriously and can be dismissive so I haven’t requested an Ultra Sound yet).

The not knowing has really been difficult and I’m trying to trust God and his plan for me but it’s been difficult. I can’t seem to muster up the faith to receive my healing, there seems to be a stumbling block. I’ve also become aware of nerve sensitization pain that happens when your nervous system turns up its volume, making your brain and spinal cord amplify pain signals that normally don’t present. This could be the roadblock I’m experiencing.

In the last few days, I’m had painful inflammation and blisters in my mouth which I know are the results of stress. Also, earlier this week I had an episode of Vertigo which thankfully has resolved. Honestly, I sometimes feel I’m under a demonic attack. I need a breakthrough and soon.

Pray that God will turn down the volume on my nervous system, turn up my faith, calm my spirit and ease my anxiety and remove any roadblocks. A miracle touch would be welcomed. Thanks again for your prayers (in Jesus Name), they are greatly appreciated. God bless!

We continue to lift you up before the Lord and we thank you for sharing this ongoing burden so honestly with us. We hear how wearying these more than six weeks have been, living with chronic pain and discomfort from chemical epididymitis, not knowing the full cause, feeling dismissed at times by your doctor, and now carrying additional stress with mouth inflammation and blisters and that episode of vertigo. We stand with you in prayer for your upcoming appointment in September, and we understand how the uncertainty itself can amplify anxiety and make it hard to rest.

We want to gently encourage you about faith. You mentioned you cannot seem to muster up enough faith to receive your healing and that there seems to be a stumbling block. Please hear that healing does not come because we work up a certain level of faith through our own effort. Jesus said if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, nothing will be impossible for you in Matthew 17:20, and the father who cried out I believe, help my unbelief in Mark 9:24 was still heard and answered by Jesus. God does not require perfect or large faith, He asks for honest trust in Him, even when it is small and trembling. Your faith is not the healer, Jesus is. We pray you will be freed from the pressure of trying to earn your healing and instead rest in His grace and mercy.

We also hear your concern about nerve sensitization and your nervous system amplifying pain, and your feeling that you may be under demonic attack. It is true that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places in Ephesians 6:12. The enemy does seek to use pain, fear and exhaustion to discourage us. Yet Scripture also tells us to be sober and self-controlled, that your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour in 1 Peter 5:8, and to submit therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you in James 4:7. We do not need to live in fear of attack, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, and God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7.

At the same time much of what you describe, the heightened pain signals, mouth sores, vertigo and sleepless anxious thoughts, are also the way our bodies respond to prolonged stress and chronic pain. God cares for both your spirit and your body and He invites you to cast all your worries on him because he cares for you in 1 Peter 5:7 and to not be anxious in anything but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God in Philippians 4:6. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:7. He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit in Psalm 34:18.

We want to encourage you to be a good steward of the body God has given you as you wait on Him. It is wise to seek counsel and we pray you will feel freedom to be honest and persistent with your doctor about your concerns. The Lord often works through physicians and wisdom, and there is no lack of faith in asking for appropriate evaluation, including an ultrasound if it is indicated, or seeking a second opinion if you continue to feel dismissed. Pray for the Lord to give your doctor wisdom, attentiveness and compassion, and for you to have clarity and courage to advocate for your health. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight in Proverbs 3:5-6.

We thank you for praying in Jesus name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is by His wounds we are healed. We cling to His promises that He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases in Psalm 103:3 and that He will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds says the Lord in Jeremiah 30:17. Even when healing is not instant, we know He works all things together for good for those who love Him in Romans 8:28.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Great Physician and our Prince of Peace. We lift up our brother to You and ask for Your healing touch upon his body. Lord, You see the chronic inflammation and pain he has endured for more than six weeks, You know every nerve pathway and every signal that is firing. We ask You to calm his nervous system, to turn down the volume on amplified pain, to soothe inflamed tissue and bring complete restoration and healing as only You can. Lay Your hand upon his mouth and heal the blisters and inflammation, ease the aftereffects of vertigo, and let his sleep be peaceful and his body be strengthened.

Lord, we ask You to calm his spirit and ease his anxiety. Replace fear and not knowing with Your perfect peace that guards heart and mind. Help him to rest in You, to know that You are with him and will never leave him nor forsake him. Increase his faith not by striving but by revealing more of Your love and faithfulness to him. Remove any roadblock, whether physical, emotional or spiritual, that hinders his peace and healing. We resist the enemy in Jesus name and ask You to cover him with Your protection and fill him with hope.

Give wisdom to his doctors, give him favor and clarity at his upcoming appointment, and guide every decision about testing and treatment. Let him feel heard, cared for, and led by You. We thank You that You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, and we trust Your plan and Your timing even in this difficult waiting. We ask for a breakthrough, for relief from pain, and for renewed strength day by day.

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every worry to Him daily, to rest as you are able, to stay in the Word and in prayer, and to let others in the body of Christ support you. Do not be afraid, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, yes I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness in Isaiah 41:10. We are continuing to pray for your complete healing and for peace as you wait on the Lord.

We've been holding you in prayer and we can hear how exhausting these last six weeks have been. Living with ongoing pain without clear answers wears on every part of you, and it makes sense that anxiety, trouble sleeping and that amplified pain feeling would leave you feeling on edge and discouraged. That does not mean your faith has failed.

Waiting almost two more weeks for an appointment is hard, especially when you have felt dismissed before. It can help to go in with a short written note: when the pain started, what makes it better or worse, the mouth soreness and the vertigo episode that has now resolved, what worries you most, and the question you want to ask about whether an ultrasound or other follow up might be appropriate. If you can, bring someone you trust to help listen and take notes. And since new symptoms have come up, please let your clinician know about them promptly rather than waiting, alongside our prayers for you.

We also hear you asking God to calm your nervous system and lift the weight you feel. We are asking with you for wisdom for your doctors, for relief from pain, and for peace as you wait.

Father, we bring our brother to you in Jesus name. You see his pain and his worry. We ask for your healing touch according to your will, for calm in his body and mind, for clarity for his care team, and for strength for each day as he waits. Draw him close and remind him you are with him. In Jesus name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your continued pain and weariness have not gone unnoticed by the Lord, and we have brought your burden before Him again with earnest prayer. Six weeks of constant discomfort, with the uncertainty of not knowing the full cause, is a heavy trial, and it is no wonder that your spirit has been cast down and your body has shown the strain in mouth sores and in that distressing episode of vertigo.

We pray that our gracious God will grant you His healing touch according to His perfect wisdom and mercy. We ask that He will calm your nervous system and quiet those amplified signals of pain, that He will ease your anxiety and still your spirit, and that He will grant wisdom and attentiveness to the physician you will see in September, giving you grace to speak plainly of your concerns and to seek the examinations that are needful. Above all we pray that He will draw near to you in this waiting time and make His presence your comfort.

You write that you cannot seem to muster up faith enough to receive healing, and that there seems to be a stumbling block. Hear this for your comfort, faith is not a work which you must work up in yourself. The least faith in Jesus is the gift of God and it is like precious faith though it is not like strong faith. If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you can do wonders. Little faith is still true faith when it begins and ends with Jesus. It is not the strength of your faith but the strength of Christ upon whom your faith rests that saves and sustains. Faith is the dropping down into the arms of the strong man, the trusting of the bridge to carry you over the stream. You have heard the Gospel and believed that it comes from God, and that hearing of faith is itself the work of God in you. Do not despise that little faith, for Christ sees it. When He saw their faith, He said, Man, your sins are forgiven you. He has eyes with which He can see faith even when you can scarcely see it yourself.

Do not think that your anxiety or your sensitized nerves have placed you beyond His reach. The very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty, but your faith in Him, if it were what it ought to be, would soon be the end of your distress, not because faith is a power in itself, but because it lays hold upon Him who is our peace. Take above all the shield of faith, for this faith can quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, whether they come from Satan, from the world, or from your own troubled thoughts. When you feel as though you are under attack, remember that the victory that overcomes the world is even our faith.

There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. Pluck a leaf of this Tree by your poor trembling faith and if you dare not take more than that, yet shall it make you whole. From a pardoning God there are such mercies to be received that we who have little faith and are weak in heart suddenly find our spirits revive. First forgiveness, then healing, for when the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people with healing in His wings, pardon and healing are joined together.

Therefore look again to the foundation of your faith, to see whether you have believed in Jesus and have in your heart the true life which grows out of such faith. Rest not in notions or in feelings, but in Christ Himself. If you will not trust God, neither shall you have peace, but that touch of personal faith which takes what God gives brings peace to the soul.

We pray now for you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation. O Lord, look upon Your servant in his pain and prolonged waiting. Forgive his sins and let him know his pardon secure in Christ. Turn down the tumult of his nervous system, calm his spirit, ease his anxiety, and remove every roadblock that keeps him from resting in You. Increase his faith, not that he may boast in faith itself, but that he may see more of Jesus. Grant a breakthrough in Your time and way, whether by a gradual restoring or by a miracle touch, and keep him close till the day when every pain shall cease. Amen.
