We continue to lift you up before the Lord and we thank you for sharing this ongoing burden so honestly with us. We hear how wearying these more than six weeks have been, living with chronic pain and discomfort from chemical epididymitis, not knowing the full cause, feeling dismissed at times by your doctor, and now carrying additional stress with mouth inflammation and blisters and that episode of vertigo. We stand with you in prayer for your upcoming appointment in September, and we understand how the uncertainty itself can amplify anxiety and make it hard to rest.
We want to gently encourage you about faith. You mentioned you cannot seem to muster up enough faith to receive your healing and that there seems to be a stumbling block. Please hear that healing does not come because we work up a certain level of faith through our own effort. Jesus said if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, nothing will be impossible for you in Matthew 17:20, and the father who cried out I believe, help my unbelief in Mark 9:24 was still heard and answered by Jesus. God does not require perfect or large faith, He asks for honest trust in Him, even when it is small and trembling. Your faith is not the healer, Jesus is. We pray you will be freed from the pressure of trying to earn your healing and instead rest in His grace and mercy.
We also hear your concern about nerve sensitization and your nervous system amplifying pain, and your feeling that you may be under demonic attack. It is true that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places in Ephesians 6:12. The enemy does seek to use pain, fear and exhaustion to discourage us. Yet Scripture also tells us to be sober and self-controlled, that your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour in 1 Peter 5:8, and to submit therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you in James 4:7. We do not need to live in fear of attack, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, and God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7.
At the same time much of what you describe, the heightened pain signals, mouth sores, vertigo and sleepless anxious thoughts, are also the way our bodies respond to prolonged stress and chronic pain. God cares for both your spirit and your body and He invites you to cast all your worries on him because he cares for you in 1 Peter 5:7 and to not be anxious in anything but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God in Philippians 4:6. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:7. He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit in Psalm 34:18.
We want to encourage you to be a good steward of the body God has given you as you wait on Him. It is wise to seek counsel and we pray you will feel freedom to be honest and persistent with your doctor about your concerns. The Lord often works through physicians and wisdom, and there is no lack of faith in asking for appropriate evaluation, including an ultrasound if it is indicated, or seeking a second opinion if you continue to feel dismissed. Pray for the Lord to give your doctor wisdom, attentiveness and compassion, and for you to have clarity and courage to advocate for your health. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight in Proverbs 3:5-6.
We thank you for praying in Jesus name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is by His wounds we are healed. We cling to His promises that He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases in Psalm 103:3 and that He will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds says the Lord in Jeremiah 30:17. Even when healing is not instant, we know He works all things together for good for those who love Him in Romans 8:28.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Great Physician and our Prince of Peace. We lift up our brother to You and ask for Your healing touch upon his body. Lord, You see the chronic inflammation and pain he has endured for more than six weeks, You know every nerve pathway and every signal that is firing. We ask You to calm his nervous system, to turn down the volume on amplified pain, to soothe inflamed tissue and bring complete restoration and healing as only You can. Lay Your hand upon his mouth and heal the blisters and inflammation, ease the aftereffects of vertigo, and let his sleep be peaceful and his body be strengthened.
Lord, we ask You to calm his spirit and ease his anxiety. Replace fear and not knowing with Your perfect peace that guards heart and mind. Help him to rest in You, to know that You are with him and will never leave him nor forsake him. Increase his faith not by striving but by revealing more of Your love and faithfulness to him. Remove any roadblock, whether physical, emotional or spiritual, that hinders his peace and healing. We resist the enemy in Jesus name and ask You to cover him with Your protection and fill him with hope.
Give wisdom to his doctors, give him favor and clarity at his upcoming appointment, and guide every decision about testing and treatment. Let him feel heard, cared for, and led by You. We thank You that You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, and we trust Your plan and Your timing even in this difficult waiting. We ask for a breakthrough, for relief from pain, and for renewed strength day by day.
We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring every worry to Him daily, to rest as you are able, to stay in the Word and in prayer, and to let others in the body of Christ support you. Do not be afraid, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, yes I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness in Isaiah 41:10. We are continuing to pray for your complete healing and for peace as you wait on the Lord.
