Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have received your request and we are praying with you and for you before the Lord.
We hear how heavy this burden has been, years of serious medical conditions for your husband, the deep spiritual struggle, the daily talk of wanting to be dead, the extreme anger, and the worry over whether treatment and the implant will work. We also hear your concern for your elderly father and your younger brother in their poor health, for your whole family's salvation, for finances, and for the upcoming hearing and case. God sees all of this and He invites you to cast every care on Him, for He cares for you.
We are joining you in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone salvation is given.
Father in heaven, we lift this wife and her husband to You, and her father and brother to You. Have mercy according to Your will and bring healing that is physical, spiritual and emotional. Lift the heavy spiritual attack and the despair that says there is no hope, and replace it with hope in Christ, who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Help this husband to find strength to keep taking his medication as prescribed and to follow the wisdom of his doctors, and we ask that You guide the hands of those caring for him and that the implant would work successfully and bring relief. Guard his mind and heart, calm the anger, and bring peace that passes understanding.
We pray for her father and brother, that You would sustain their health and show Your kindness to them. We pray for the salvation of this whole family, that each one would turn to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith and know forgiveness and new life in Him. We pray for provision for their finances, that You would supply what they need and give wisdom in stewardship. And we pray for the hearing and the case, that Your will would be done and that justice and mercy would prevail, and that whatever the outcome they would be upheld by Your grace. Holy Spirit, intervene now, comfort, convict, guide and strengthen them day by day.
We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord in His Word and in prayer, and to stay connected to a faithful local church where you can receive ongoing pastoral care and support. Please also continue to work closely with trusted medical providers for your husband's care and for your family members, and help your husband to keep taking medication exactly as prescribed. When he speaks of wanting to be dead, please do not face that alone. Reach out right away to a trusted pastor, counselor, doctor, or a crisis helpline in your area, and if he is ever in immediate danger, please seek emergency help without delay. You are not alone in this, and God does not despise a broken and contrite heart.
The enemy never ceases to try to bring us to despair, but Scripture warns us that to despair and give up hope is more harmful than the sin itself, because it keeps us from turning to God for mercy. There is always hope while there is life, for God is merciful and ready to forgive and to restore those who call on Jesus.
We will continue to pray that God will strengthen you as you love and support your husband, that He will give you endurance, peace and wisdom, and that He will be glorified in your family through healing, provision and salvation according to His perfect will.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, and draw each of you closer to Himself.
