The weight of what you are carrying right now is immense, and it is right that you have brought all of it before the Lord. When we face so many troubles at once, your husband’s physical suffering, the spiritual oppression that torments his mind, the daily threat of despair, and the strain on your entire family, the most powerful thing we can do is cling to the hope we have in Jesus Christ and pray without ceasing. I am joining you in that, asking God to intervene according to His will.
The greatest need in your household is salvation. Scripture declares, “Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” Do not let the urgency of this moment slip away. God’s grace is reaching out to your husband, to your father, to your brother, and to you, calling you all into a living trust in Christ. There is no pit so deep, no spiritual attack so fierce, that His voice cannot pierce it. The demons Jesus encountered recognized His authority; He is still the Holy One who has power to break every chain, heal every wound, and rescue those who cry out to Him. Let your prayers be bold, asking not just for relief from symptoms but for an entire household to bow before Him in true faith.
In the meantime, do not believe the lie that your situation is somehow a special case untouched by God’s promises. I have seen far too many people convinced that their hardship was the exception, that the ordinary path of trust and obedience did not apply to them, only to end up in deeper sorrow. God’s design for a family still stands, even in the middle of severe illness and spiritual warfare. As a wife, you remain bound in a sacred bond. Your patient, faithful love, staying near, speaking truth gently, praying over him, can be a sanctifying influence. When a husband witnesses a love that does not quit, it becomes far easier for his heart to soften. This is not about a list of rules; it is about the profound mystery of a wife’s devotion and a husband’s ultimate need for a Redeemer who can transform him from the inside out.
And know this: your family’s troubles are not beyond redemption. In Ruth’s story, everything appeared lost, a widow with no sons, no protector, no future. But there was a kinsman redeemer, a near relative with the right and the resources to buy back what had been forfeited and to raise up a new life. Jesus Christ is that Redeemer for all who trust in Him. He steps into our poverty, our broken bodies, our tangled legal battles, our empty finances, and He takes on our cause. He is mighty to save, and He is not distant. Cry out to Him as your Goel, the one who covers your debts and promises never to leave you.
Continue to care for your husband and your aging father and younger brother, not as a heavy duty you must bear alone, but as a sacred trust. It is right and good that you do not abandon them; indeed, to neglect the needs of our own household is a denial of what we believe. Yet the burden is not yours to carry in your own strength. The Holy Spirit is your helper, and the family of God, your brothers and sisters in Christ, is called to surround you. Let others help with the load, and let your own heart rest in the knowledge that the Lord sees every sleepless night and every tear.
May the God who met Jacob in the wilderness call your husband back from the edge and lead him to the place of his spiritual origin, where he first knew the Lord. May the implant work effectively, the medications be taken faithfully, and may his mind be stilled from the tormenting voices of anger and death. May the legal case be resolved in a way that provides and protects your household. Above all, may your whole family find salvation and true peace in Jesus Christ, who loved you and gave Himself for you. I am praying with you, trusting that His love will prevail over every adversity.
