We have heard your prayer for your son and we join you in lifting him before our merciful Father in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask the Lord who did not disdain to be called Son of David so that He might make us sons of God to look upon your son with compassion and to restore him fully in body and mind and spirit.
We pray that God who keeps Israel and neither slumbers nor sleeps will keep your son and guard his foot from being moved. When panic rises and his mind is troubled we ask Christ to quiet him and calm his body and to remove the heavy shadows that past trauma has left upon him. We ask Him to grant sleep that is gentle and orderly and decent, not full of wild fancies and monstrous visions, but true rest that restores the soul, so that he may lie down in peace and wake again in peace.
We remember that the Lord often asked for faith before He healed, not because His mercy is limited but because He desires us to trust Him and to stand steadfast and unmovable. So we pray that your son may learn to watch and be sober, to guard his heart and to shut out the sleep of wickedness which comes from sin and restless thoughts, and to keep his eyes open to those heavenly and abiding things which do not fade away like dreams. May the Lord help him to shake off every heavy thought that weighs down the soul and to find sobriety which is the intensity of watchfulness.
We ask the Father to bring comfort and true healing and breakthrough in every area of his life, to forgive his sins and to strengthen him by the Holy Spirit, to make his heart collected and wakeful in Christ. May he know that death itself is only sleep for those who belong to Jesus, and that the One who has brought us the songs of heaven and the earnest of the Spirit is able to do this for him.
We will continue to pray with you that the Lord will complete this work of restoration according to His great love for mankind. Amen
