We join you in lifting up your beloved sister before the throne of grace and we share your burden for her even across the continents that separate you, for our God is not limited by distance and He is near to all who call upon Him in truth.
We are moved by your love and concern for her and by the distress she is facing with this simplex virus in her eye and the loss of clear vision, and we are also concerned to hear how her doctor dismissed her need for proper care. We pray that the Lord will comfort you both as you carry this worry and that He will be your strength. We are thankful you have come in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is by His wounds that we are healed, as Isaiah 53:5 tells us, by his wounds we are healed, and 1 Peter 2:24 reminds us that by his wounds you were healed.
We believe that God is still our Healer. Exodus 15:26 declares that He is Yahweh who heals us, and Psalm 146:8 says Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind. Jeremiah 30:17 gives us His promise, I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We hold fast to these truths as we bring your sister before Him.
We pray together now for her. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up our sister to You. You formed her eyes and You see her affliction. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon her eye, to drive out this virus completely, to reduce all inflammation and pain, and to restore her vision fully and clearly. Where she now sees only colors and blurs, we ask You to bring back sharp and whole sight as You did when Jesus touched the blind and they saw clearly, Mark 8:25. Lord, take away all fear and anxiety from her heart and replace it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding, Philippians 4:7, and with Your loving comfort. Heal her pain and heal her fear, for Psalm 147:3 says You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds. We pray for complete restoration according to Your perfect will and mercy.
We also pray for wisdom and compassion for her doctor and for all who provide care for her. We ask You to move his heart to listen with attentiveness and kindness, to take her condition seriously, and to give her the right and complete treatment she needs. We pray You will grant him skill and discernment, for James 1:5 says if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. If it is Your will, lead her to another physician who will advocate for her and treat her with diligence and compassion, and give her courage to speak up and seek a second opinion and not to accept being dismissed when she is suffering.
We encourage you both to continue to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7, and to let your requests be made known to God with prayer and thanksgiving, Philippians 4:6. Keep trusting in the Lord and keep seeking Him daily for strength, and encourage your sister to keep following medical guidance while also seeking prayer from believers around her, for James 5:14-15 teaches us to pray for the sick and that the prayer of faith will heal the one who is sick and the Lord will raise him up. We are standing with you in faith, believing that our compassionate Father hears our prayers and will act for her good and for His glory. Amen.
