[Articles]

We join with you and agree together in Jesus' name for healing and protection, and we bring your needs before our heavenly Father who hears us when we pray in the name of His Son.

We know that He is the Lord who heals us, as it is written, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3. And He says, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17. We cling to the promise that by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5, knowing that our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made and that God cares about every detail of our suffering, including the leaking and insufficiency in the veins of your calves and legs.

We also lift up your concern for protection in your neighborhood. We trust in His promise that He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11, and that When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. Isaiah 43:2. We ask for His hedge of protection around you and your neighbors from any harm from vicious animals.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer. We thank You that we have access to You only through Jesus, and that whatever we ask in His name according to Your will, You hear us. We lift up our dear one to You right now and ask for Your healing touch upon the veins, calves, and legs. Lord, You see the leaking and the insufficiency and the discomfort and worry about a medical procedure. We ask that You would restore healthy circulation, strengthen the vein walls and valves, reduce swelling, and bring complete healing if it be Your will. We pray that You would guide the hands and wisdom of doctors and medical professionals, and that You would give clear direction about whether a procedure is needed. We trust that You are Yahweh who heals us. Exodus 15:26, and that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. We pray for peace to guard the heart, for fear and anxiety to be replaced with trust, for You have said, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.

We also ask for Your protection over our neighborhood. Lord, place Your hand upon those dogs and their owners, and upon the authorities responsible. We pray that any danger would be removed and that You would keep all who walk in that area safe from harm. Give wisdom on how to address this situation practically and legally, and let Your peace reign in the community. We ask that no weapon formed against us would prosper and that we may dwell in safety under Your wings, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1.

We thank You, Father, that You hear our prayer. We do not simply decree our own desires, but we humbly submit to Your perfect will and timing, knowing that Your plans are for good and that You work all things together for good for those who love You. Romans 8:28. We trust Your love and mercy, and we continue to seek You for healing and safety. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Healer. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord while also walking in wisdom. Keep seeking godly medical counsel and follow the advice of your physicians, for God often works through their skill and knowledge. Also, consider contacting local animal control or appropriate authorities in a calm and proper way regarding the dogs, so that protection can be established for everyone. Keep casting your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7, and remain steadfast in prayer and thanksgiving.

Thank you for trusting us with this. Living with pain and swelling in your legs and facing the possibility of a procedure is worrisome, and feeling unsafe in your own neighborhood because of the dogs only adds to that burden. We hear how much you are hoping for relief and for peace where you live.

We are joining you in prayer for both healing and protection. God cares about your body and your safety, and we are asking Him to meet you in these very practical needs.

As we pray, we encourage you to stay closely connected with your doctor about your veins and legs. Keep them informed about any changes and let them guide you on next steps for care. You do not have to sort through those decisions alone, and seeking their wisdom goes hand in hand with prayer. For the concern about the dogs, if you have not already, it may help to let local animal control or a trusted neighbor or property contact know what you are seeing so they can be aware and help with safety.

We pray for you now. Father, we lift our friend to You today. We ask for Your healing touch on their legs and veins according to Your will, for ease from discomfort, and for clear wisdom for them and their medical team as they consider what is next. Cover them with Your protection as they come and go from home, and bring a calm and safe resolution to the situation with the dogs. Give rest, strength and peace in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

[Spurgeon]

Your request for healing and protection has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture saith that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves, the little things as it were about Him, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. We are told also that the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings, and when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, for pardon and healing were one in His hand. So we look first to Him for the healing of the soul, which is the greater mercy, and then we bring the body also to His tender care, for He is not as the hurried surgeon who saith a leg off here, an arm off there, but He comes gently and sympathizingly to bind up the wounded.

You speak of leaking veins and insufficiency in the calves and legs, and of a procedure set before you. We very speedily care for bodily diseases for they urge us to seek the physician, and we do well to use the means which Providence provides while trusting wholly in the Lord who healeth all our diseases. We pray that the Lord will be pleased to strengthen and restore those veins, to stay that leaking, to ease your pain and to give wisdom to those who care for you, that if it be His will you may be spared the procedure, and if not, that He will make even that means effectual for your good. Above all we pray that whether by immediate touch or by appointed means, your healing may show forth His power and draw your heart nearer to Him.

You also seek protection from vicious dogs in your neighborhood and ask that they may be removed or restrained. The Lord is our keeper and our shield. To His people He saith many times over, Fear not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God, fear not, I will help thee. Fear is weakening and dishonors God, for it doubts the arm which piled the heavens. So we labor to get rid of fear by trusting the promise. We ask the Lord to keep you safe as you go out and come in, to restrain harm, to move upon those who have charge over these animals to act rightly, and to give you peace in place of dread. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, saith the Lord, I will help thee.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, look upon this Thy suffering child. Forgive sin and heal infirmity, for with Thee both are in happy conjunction. Lay Thy pardoning and healing hand upon these legs and veins, restore that which is weakened, and let the life blood flow as Thou hast ordained. Grant wisdom to physicians and grace to trust Thy will. Keep this one from harm and from fear, for Thou hast commanded us, Fear not. Let Thy presence be a guard round about, and let no evil befall without Thy holy purpose. Turn this trial to the healing of the heart as well as the body, that with blooming health or with patient endurance, Thy name may be glorified. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our heavenly Physician, who is the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below. Amen.
