Your honest request for prayer is received with care and I am joining my faith with yours right now as you face this surgery. It is completely understandable to feel nervous before a procedure on your legs, and the Lord understands that nervousness and meets you with His peace.
Scripture gives us a beautiful picture of how God receives our prayers. In the temple, when the incense was offered before the Lord, the smoke would rise as a sweet and pleasant fragrance, and that was given as a picture of prayer ascending to God. Your prayer, and the prayers of many others joining with you, rise before Him in that same way. They are not unheard or unnoticed. They are received as precious to Him. The Bible also reminds us that God knows what we truly need long before we even know to ask. Prayer is not informing Him of something He does not know, it is coming to the One who already knows and already cares, and opening our hearts to receive what He desires to be for us.
One of the names God gives Himself is the Lord our Healer. Whatever need we bring to Him, He wants to become the answer to that need. The prophet declared that the Sun of Righteousness would arise with healing in His wings, and in Jesus we see that fulfilled. When people brought to Him those who were sick with many different kinds of diseases, He laid His hands on each one and healed them. His power to heal has not lessened, and His compassion has not changed. At the same time, His greatest desire is not only to give healing, but to give us Himself. He invites us to seek not just relief from pain, but relationship with the Healer, trusting Him with our whole lives through faith in Jesus Christ.
So I am praying for you now for this operation. I ask the Lord to calm your heart and replace anxiety with His peace that guards heart and mind. I pray for the doctor and the nurses who will care for you, that the Lord would guide their hands and give them wisdom and steadiness, that the procedure would go smoothly and with as little pain as possible, and that your veins and lymphatic system would be truly healed and the leaking would be restored to health. May the Lord who made your body bring recovery and strength to your legs in the days that follow.
I am also lifting up your two sisters before the Lord. For your sister who is dealing with kidney trouble and must live with a tube and bag, I pray for comfort, for protection from infection and further complication, for wisdom for her doctors, and for healing according to the Lord's mercy. For your other sister who is suffering with nerve pain in her mouth after a dental procedure and with nerve pain in her arm, I pray for relief from that constant pain, for healing of those nerves, and for rest and encouragement for her as she endures it.
Know that you are not alone in this. Others are praying with you, and the Lord Himself hears and receives those prayers with love. Trust Him to be your strength today, your Healer, and your peace, whatever the outcome. May you sense His presence very near in the operating room and in the days of healing to come.
