Your petition for your son has been heard with deep and prayerful sympathy, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.
We take comfort that our Lord is both Physician and Healer. As it is written, He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. There is an abundance of healing virtue in Christ, not only in great things but in the least touch of His hand, to restore the body, to calm the troubled mind, and to renew the spirit. We pray that this healing power may flow to your son, that whatever afflicts him in body, in mind, and in soul may be touched by that pardoning and restoring hand which gives forgiveness and healing together.
You ask for peaceful sleep and a sound mind, and we are reminded that sleep is a precious gift from our Father. So He giveth His beloved sleep. It is God who steeps the mind and bids us slumber that we may be refreshed and strengthened. We pray that the Lord will bestow upon your son this sleep of contentment and of security, that his nights may be quiet and his thoughts may be stayed upon Christ. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind, and we ask that every tormenting confusion and every spirit of psychosis be cast out by the authority of Jesus Christ, and that in its place the Lord will grant clarity, peace, and settled rest.
We also join you in praying for his protection. May the Lord encamp about him and keep him from all harm and from the assaults of evil. May He comfort your son with His own presence, so that whether waking or sleeping he may know that he is kept in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon Him.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we bring this beloved son before Thee in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, our only hope and Saviour. Lay Thy healing hand upon him. Restore him physically, mentally, and spiritually. Drive far from him all darkness and distress, and grant him peaceful sleep and a sound and tranquil mind. Cover him with Thy wings, preserve him from all harm and evil, and let Thy peace which passeth all understanding guard his heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Comfort him with Thy nearness this night and in all nights to come, till he awakes refreshed to serve Thee. In the name of Jesus we ask it, Amen.
