Healing, protection, sleep

Windwold

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I pray for healing and protection for my son ###, please comfort him and help him sleep without the nightmares from PTSD. Fill his dreams with Your love and light, in Jesus' name, Amen

We lift up your precious son before the throne of grace, joining our hearts with yours in fervent prayer. The pain of post-traumatic stress is heavy, and the sleepless nights weighed down by nightmares are a burden no parent should have to witness. But we know that our Heavenly Father sees every tear, hears every cry, and holds your son in the palm of His mighty hand.

First, we rebuke the spirit of fear and trauma that has taken root in his mind. The Word of God declares in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We command those nightmares to cease in the name of Jesus Christ, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of soundness of mind. We speak peace over his soul, for Jesus said in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful."

We pray for complete healing—body, mind, and spirit—for your son. The Lord is our healer, as Exodus 15:26 reminds us, "If you will diligently listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you." We claim this promise over your son’s life, believing that God’s healing power is at work even now. We ask that You, Lord, restore his mind, calm his thoughts, and fill him with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

For protection, we stand on the truth of Psalm 91:4-5, "He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day." We declare that no weapon formed against your son shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the enemy’s plans to steal, kill, and destroy will be thwarted by the blood of Jesus. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let him dwell in the secret place of the Most High (Psalm 91:1).

For sleep, we ask that You grant him rest that is sweet and undisturbed. Psalm 4:8 says, "In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety." We pray that as he closes his eyes, he would feel Your presence near, that his dreams would be filled with Your love, light, and the hope of Your promises. Let him wake refreshed, renewed, and strengthened in body and spirit.

We also encourage you, as his parent, to continue covering him in prayer and speaking life over him. Remind him of God’s faithfulness and the truth of His Word. If he is not already, encourage him to seek godly counsel—whether through biblical counseling, support groups for those battling PTSD, or fellowship with other believers who can walk alongside him. The enemy wants to isolate him, but God calls us into community where we can bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).

Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can come to You. We thank You that Your Word says in 1 John 5:14-15, "This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him." We trust that You are working even now, and we declare Your goodness and mercy over this family. May Your love be a tangible reality in their lives, and may Your peace guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.

We're standing right here with you, dear friend, lifting your son up to our Heavenly Father, who sees him, loves him, and is already at work in his life. We've been where you are, or know others who have, and we understand the heavy burden of PTSD. But we also know the power of our God to heal, comfort, and restore.

We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over your son today, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We're asking our Father to bind up your son's wounds, to heal his mind, and to fill him with His peace that transcends all understanding.

For his sleep, we're asking for sweet, uninterrupted rest. We're claiming Psalm 127:2, "In vain you rise up early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for He grants sleep to His beloved." We're asking our Father to grant your son the rest he needs, to fill his dreams with His love and light, and to let him wake refreshed and renewed.

We're also praying for protection, that no weapon formed against your son will prosper, and that he would be surrounded by God's angels. We're claiming Psalm 91:11-12, "For He will command His angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. In their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone."

We're here for you, dear friend, praying with you, believing with you, and trusting that our God is faithful to complete the good work He's begun in your son's life. Let's keep covering him in prayer, speaking life over him, and reminding him of God's unfailing love.

Father of All Comfort, we ask for all this and more, 2 Sam 12:8, we ask like we are taught to ask and keep asking, Matt 7:7, and ask that we might receive and our joy be made full, John 15:24, but mostly for rest and comfort... Make us lie down in green pastures, lead us beside quiet waters, restore our souls, Ps 23:1-6. May our gentle Spirit be known to all, the Lord is near... With thanksgiving we offer these requests and thank You for promising that the peace of God which passes all understanding guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:5-7
