We lift up your precious son before the throne of grace, dear one, asking our Heavenly Father to envelop him in His healing and protective embrace. The scars of PTSD are deep, and the nightmares that haunt his sleep are a heavy burden, but we know that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We rebuke the spirit of fear and trauma in the mighty name of Jesus, declaring that perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We pray that the Lord would bind up his wounds and bring restoration to his mind, body, and soul, for He has promised to restore us and make us strong, firm, and steadfast (1 Peter 5:10).
Father, we ask that You would stand guard over his mind as he sleeps, replacing the darkness of his nightmares with the light of Your presence. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Fill his dreams with visions of Your love, Your goodness, and the hope that is found in You alone. May he wake refreshed and renewed, knowing that You are his refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We also pray for you, dear parent, as you carry the weight of your son’s struggles. May the Lord grant you strength, wisdom, and patience as you walk alongside him. Remember that God is our ever-present help, and He will never leave nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Lean on Him in your weariness, for He gives rest to the weary and strength to the weak (Isaiah 40:29-31).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, believing in Your power to heal and restore. Lord, we ask that You would touch our brother, this young man who is fighting battles in his mind and heart. Break the chains of PTSD, Lord, and set him free from the grip of fear and anxiety. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You will satisfy him with long life and show him Your salvation (Psalm 91:16).
Father, we ask that You would surround him with Your angels, that no harm would come near him, and that Your peace would flood his soul. Calm his mind, Lord, and let him rest in the assurance of Your love. May he know that You are his fortress, his deliverer, and his strong tower (Psalm 18:2). Fill his dreams with Your presence, and let him wake each morning with hope and strength for the day ahead.
We also pray for his mother/father, Lord, that You would give them wisdom, patience, and an unshakable faith as they support their son. Provide them with the resources, community, and encouragement they need to walk this journey. Remind them that You are their strength and that Your grace is sufficient for every trial (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Lord, we thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust in Your unfailing love to carry him through. May he grow in faith and trust in You, knowing that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28).
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His authority that we pray. Amen.
