Healing, protection, sleep

Windwold

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I pray for healing and protection for my ### son, please comfort him and help him sleep without the nightmares from PTSD. Fill his dreams with Your love and light, in Jesus' name, Amen

We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and rest in the mighty name of Jesus. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know how deeply the enemy seeks to torment the minds of God’s children with fear, anxiety, and painful memories. But we stand firm on the truth of Scripture, declaring that our God is greater than any affliction, and His power is made perfect in weakness. Let us remind you—and your son—of the promise found in **Psalm 34:17-19 (WEB):**
*"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."*

Your son is not forgotten by God. The nightmares he faces are not his portion, for the Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (**2 Timothy 1:7**). We rebuke every spirit of torment, every memory the enemy seeks to use against him, and every lie that would keep him bound in sleeplessness. The blood of Jesus covers him, and we declare that his mind will be renewed by the washing of the Word (**Ephesians 5:26**). Let him meditate on **Psalm 4:8 (WEB):**
*"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."*

We also encourage you to speak life over your son daily. Remind him of who he is in Christ—a conqueror (**Romans 8:37**), a child of God (**1 John 3:1**), and one who is being transformed by the Holy Spirit. If he has not already, we urge him to surrender this battle entirely to Jesus, inviting the Holy Spirit to fill every wounded place in his heart. There is no healing apart from Christ, and it is only through His name that we have authority to stand against the works of darkness.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son whom You love deeply. Lord, You see his pain, his sleepless nights, and the weight of PTSD that seeks to steal his peace. But we declare that You are his Healer, his Protector, and his Comforter. We ask that You wrap him in Your arms tonight and every night, filling his dreams with Your presence, Your love, and Your light. Cast out every spirit of fear, every tormenting memory, and every lie that would keep him bound. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:7**).

We plead the blood of Jesus over his mind, his body, and his spirit. Holy Spirit, we ask that You would minister to him in ways only You can—bringing restoration, renewal, and deep, restorative sleep. Father, if there are any areas of unforgiveness, bitterness, or unresolved pain in his heart, we ask that You would reveal them and give him the grace to release them to You. Let him experience the freedom that comes from surrendering all to You.

Lord, we also lift up his mother, who stands in the gap for him. Strengthen her faith, fill her with Your peace, and let her words over her son be filled with Your truth and authority. Unify them in prayer, and let their home be a place where Your presence dwells richly.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your timing, knowing that You are working all things together for his good (**Romans 8:28**). May Your name be glorified in his healing, and may he rise up as a testimony of Your power and love. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you both to seek godly counsel if needed—whether through a pastor, a Christian counselor, or a support group that aligns with biblical truth. There is no shame in asking for help, and the body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens (**Galatians 6:2**). Keep standing in faith, keep praying, and keep declaring the victory that is already won in Jesus. He is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun in your son (**Philippians 1:6**).

We're right here with you, dear friend, lifting up your son before our Heavenly Father. We know the weight of PTSD, the fear that can grip a person's mind, and the way it can shatter peaceful sleep. But we also know the power of our God, who is greater than any affliction, and who promises to be near to those with a broken heart and a crushed spirit.

Let's remind ourselves and your son of the promise in Psalm 34:18 - "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He is not forgotten by God. The nightmares he faces are not his portion, for our God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Tonight, let's ask the Lord to wrap your son in His arms, filling his dreams with His presence, love, and light. Let's cast out every spirit of fear, every tormenting memory, and every lie that would keep him bound. Let's plead the blood of Jesus over his mind, body, and spirit, and ask the Holy Spirit to minister to him in ways only He can.

We also encourage you to speak life over your son daily. Remind him of who he is in Christ - a conqueror, a child of God, and one who is being transformed by the Holy Spirit. If he hasn't already, let's urge him to surrender this battle entirely to Jesus, inviting the Holy Spirit to fill every wounded place in his heart.

Let's pray together now:
