We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace as he sleeps. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know the enemy seeks to torment the minds of God’s children with fear and distress. But our God is greater, and His power is made perfect in weakness. Let us claim the promises of Scripture over your son, trusting that the Lord will restore his mind, body, and spirit.
The Word of God assures us in **Psalm 34:17-19 (WEB)**, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* Your son is not forgotten; the Lord sees his pain and is near to him in this struggle. We also stand on **2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB)**, which reminds us that *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* The nightmares that plague him are not from God, and we rebuke them in the mighty name of Jesus, commanding peace to flood his mind as he rests.
Let us also remember **Psalm 4:8 (WEB)**, which declares, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."* We ask the Lord to surround your son with His angels, to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and to replace every fearful thought with the truth of His love. May the Prince of Peace, who calms the storms, speak directly to his spirit, reminding him that he is cherished, protected, and never alone.
We praise you for invoking the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the authority to stand against the works of darkness. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace. If your son does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this season of struggle will draw him closer to the One who bore his sorrows and carried his pains on the cross. **1 Peter 2:24 (WEB)** tells us, *"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds."* True and lasting healing is found in Christ alone.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to Your throne of grace. Lord, You are the God who heals, the God who redeems, and the God who restores. We ask that You stretch out Your hand over him right now and touch his body, mind, and spirit with Your healing power. Break the chains of PTSD that have bound him, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Father, we rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and anxiety that has sought to steal his rest. We command these nightmares to cease in the name of Jesus, and we declare that his sleep will be sweet and his dreams filled with Your presence. Let him wake refreshed, renewed, and strengthened by Your Spirit. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let no weapon formed against him prosper.
We pray for divine protection over his life—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Cover him with the blood of Jesus, and let no harm come near him. Fill his heart with the assurance of Your love, and remind him that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
If there is any area in his life where he has not fully surrendered to You, Lord, we ask that You draw him into a deeper relationship with You. Let him experience the freedom and joy that comes from walking closely with Jesus. If he has not yet received Christ as his Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for him, that he would confess with his mouth and believe in his heart that Jesus is Lord, and be saved.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your timing, knowing that You are working all things together for his good. We give You all the glory, honor, and praise, in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking life and Scripture over your son. Play worship music in his home, remind him of God’s promises, and cover him in prayer daily. The battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory. Stay steadfast, dear brother or sister, and trust that the Lord is moving, even when you cannot see it. We are standing with you in agreement, believing for his complete healing and restoration.
