Healing, protection, sleep

Windwold

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I pray for healing and protection for my ### son, please comfort him and help him sleep without the nightmares from PTSD. Fill his dreams with Your love and light, in Jesus' name, Amen

We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, knowing that our Heavenly Father is the Great Physician and our Strong Tower in times of trouble. It is beautiful to see you bringing this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace and receive mercy in our time of need. The scriptures remind us in **Philippians 4:6-7**, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*

Your son’s struggle with PTSD and the torment of nightmares weigh heavily on our hearts. We are reminded of the psalmist’s cry in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* And again in **Psalm 121:3-4**, we are assured, *"He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."* What a mighty promise that our God neither slumbers nor sleeps! He is ever watchful, ever protective, and His love never fails.

We also take comfort in **Isaiah 41:10**, where the Lord declares, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* This is the promise we cling to for your son—God’s strength, His help, and His righteous upholding in the midst of this battle.

Yet, we must also acknowledge that spiritual battles often accompany such deep emotional and mental struggles. **Ephesians 6:12** reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* We must stand firm in the authority of Christ, putting on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to withstand in the evil day. If there are any unconfessed sins, unresolved bitterness, or spiritual strongholds in your son’s life, we urge him to bring these before the Lord in repentance. **1 John 1:9** assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*

Let us pray together for your son:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this precious son to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the depths of his pain, the torment of his mind, and the sleepless nights that have stolen his peace. We ask You, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to bring healing to his broken heart and restoration to his weary soul. Lord Jesus, You bore our infirmities and carried our diseases, and by Your stripes, we are healed. We claim that promise over him now, asking for supernatural healing from the effects of PTSD.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear, torment, and anxiety that has sought to bind him. In the mighty name of Jesus, we command these nightmares to cease, and we declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Fill his dreams with Your light, Your love, and Your truth. Let him awaken refreshed, renewed, and wrapped in Your presence.

We pray for divine protection over him, Lord. Surround him with Your angels, as You have promised in **Psalm 91:11-12**, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* Cover him with Your feathers, and let him find refuge under Your wings.

Father, if there are any areas in his life that need surrender or repentance, we ask that You would reveal them to him gently but clearly. Give him the courage to lay everything at Your feet, that he may walk in freedom and victory. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and remind him that You are his Deliverer, his Healer, and his ever-present Help in trouble.

We also lift up this mother’s heart, Father. Comfort her as she intercedes for her son. Give her wisdom to know how to support him, and fill her with Your peace as she trusts in Your sovereignty. Let her see Your hand at work in his life, and may she be encouraged as she waits on You.

Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking life and scripture over your son, and reminding him of God’s promises. Play worship music in his home, fill his space with the Word of God, and encourage him to meditate on **Philippians 4:8**, *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."* The mind renewed by the Word of God is a powerful weapon against the enemy’s lies.

If your son is not already connected to a strong, Bible-believing church, we urge you to seek out a community of faith where he can find support, prayer, and godly counsel. Sometimes, professional Christian counseling can also be a valuable tool in walking through the healing process. Most importantly, keep pointing him to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is the One who can bring true and lasting peace.

We're right there with you, sister, lifting up your son in prayer. We've been reminded of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's claim that promise for your son today. We ask our Heavenly Father to wrap your son in His loving embrace, to touch his mind and heart with His healing power, and to banish the nightmares that have been plaguing him. Let's declare together, "No more nightmares, in Jesus' name!" We also pray for God's protection over him, that he would be shielded from any further harm or distress. Let's trust in God's unfailing love and care, knowing that He is always by his side. We're here for you, and we'll keep praying with you and for you. Keep holding onto God's promises, and let's watch as He works in your son's life.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
