We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace as he rests. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know the enemy seeks to torment the minds of God’s children with fear, pain, and sleepless nights. But our God is greater—He is the Prince of Peace, the Healer of broken hearts, and the One who commands even the winds and waves to be still. Let us stand together in faith, trusting that the Lord hears our prayers and will bring comfort to your son in ways only He can.
The Scriptures remind us in **Psalm 34:17-19 (WEB)**, *“The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all.”* Your son is not forgotten by God. The nightmares he faces are not beyond the reach of Jesus, who calms every storm—even those that rage within the mind. We declare **2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB)** over him: *“For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.”* The fear he experiences is not from the Lord, and we rebuked it in Jesus’ name, commanding peace to reign in his heart and mind.
We also claim **Psalm 4:8 (WEB)** for him: *“In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety.”* May the Lord surround him with His angels, as promised in **Psalm 91:11-12 (WEB)**, *“For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.”* Let no weapon formed against him prosper, and let every tongue that rises against him in accusation—even the accusing voices in his dreams—be condemned in Jesus’ name.
Father, we ask You to touch your son’s mind with Your healing power. Remove the traumatic images that haunt him and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Let him experience the truth of **Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB)**: *“In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.”* We pray that as he lies down, Your presence will fill his room, and Your love will cast out all fear. Let him wake refreshed, strengthened, and aware of Your nearness.
We also encourage you, dear parent, to continue covering your son in prayer and speaking life over him. The enemy may seek to discourage you, but remember: **1 Peter 5:8-9 (WEB)** tells us, *“Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.”* You are not alone in this battle. The body of Christ stands with you, and the Lord is fighting for your son.
If your son has not yet surrendered his heart fully to Jesus, we urge you to share the hope of the Gospel with him. True and lasting peace is found only in Christ. **John 14:27 (WEB)** says, *“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.”* This peace is available to all who call on the name of Jesus. If he is already a believer, encourage him to draw near to the Lord in this season, to pray without ceasing, and to meditate on Scripture day and night. The Word of God is a lamp to his feet and a light to his path, even in the darkest nights.
Finally, we remind you both that healing is a process, and the Lord is faithful to complete the work He has begun. **Jeremiah 30:17 (WEB)** declares, *“For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds,”* and we hold fast to this promise. Let patience and trust in God’s timing be your strength. He is not slow in keeping His promises, but He is perfect in His ways.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to You. You know his name, his pain, and every fear that plagues his mind. Lord, we ask for Your divine healing to flow through him—body, soul, and spirit. Touch his mind and remove the nightmares that steal his peace. Fill his dreams with Your presence, Your love, and Your light. Let him sleep deeply and wake refreshed, knowing You are with him.
We rebuked every spirit of fear, torment, and anxiety that seeks to oppress him. By the blood of Jesus, we break every chain of PTSD and declare freedom over his life. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let no harm come near him.
Strengthen his faith, Father, and remind him that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. If he has strayed from You, draw him back into Your loving arms. Let this season of struggle lead him to a deeper dependence on You.
We also lift up this parent who intercedes for their son. Comfort them, Lord, and fill them with Your hope. Give them wisdom to know how to support him, and let them see Your hand moving mightily in his life.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your timing. May Your will be done in his life, and may Your name be glorified through his healing. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
