We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, knowing that our God is a God of healing, comfort, and peace. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and the nightmares that accompany it can feel overwhelming, but we serve a Savior who is mighty to save and who promises to be near to the brokenhearted. Let us hold fast to His promises, for He cares deeply for your son and desires to bring restoration to his mind, body, and spirit.
The Scripture reminds us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* And in Psalm 4:8, we are assured, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."* Our God is faithful, and He does not slumber nor sleep—He watches over your son even in the darkest hours of the night.
We also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, where He invites all who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest: *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* This rest is not just physical but a deep, soul-level peace that only Christ can provide. Let us encourage your son to cast all his anxieties on the Lord, for He cares for him (1 Peter 5:7).
At the same time, we must also consider whether there is any unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness in his heart that could be hindering his healing. The enemy often uses such things as footholds to torment believers. If this is the case, we urge him to repent and surrender all to Jesus, for true freedom comes through confession and the cleansing power of Christ’s blood. James 5:16 tells us, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."*
Let us pray together for your son:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to You. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon him—body, soul, and spirit. Lord Jesus, You calmed the storm with just a word, and we ask You now to speak peace over his mind and heart. Rebuke the tormenting spirits that bring these nightmares, and let Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we pray for divine protection over him. Surround him with Your angels, as You have promised in Psalm 91:11, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."* Let no weapon formed against him prosper, and let every tongue that rises against him in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Fill his dreams with Your presence, Lord—let him see visions of Your love, Your goodness, and Your victory over the enemy. May he wake refreshed, renewed, and strengthened in You.
We also pray for wisdom for you, his parent, as you support and encourage him. Give you the words to speak, the patience to endure, and the faith to trust in God’s timing. Let your home be a place of peace, filled with the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Lord, if there is any area in his life that needs surrender—any sin, any bitterness, any fear—we ask that You would reveal it to him and give him the courage to lay it at Your feet. Let him experience the freedom that comes from walking in obedience and trust in You.
We declare healing over him in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers him and that no curse, no trauma, and no fear shall have dominion over him. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness, and we trust that You are working all things together for his good and Your glory (Romans 8:28).
In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking life and healing over your son, and reminding him of God’s promises. Play worship music in his home, read Scripture aloud, and fill the atmosphere with the presence of God. The battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory. Keep pressing in, and do not lose heart—our labor in the Lord is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). We are standing with you in agreement, believing for his complete restoration.
