We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, knowing that our Heavenly Father is the Great Physician and our ultimate Protector. The trials of PTSD are heavy burdens to bear, but we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Let us cling to this promise as we seek His healing touch for your son.
The nightmares that plague his sleep are not from God, for He is the giver of peace, not fear. We take authority over these tormenting spirits in the name of Jesus, for He has already triumphed over every power of darkness. As it is written in 2 Timothy 1:7, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* We declare that spirit of fear has no place in your son’s life, and we ask the Lord to replace it with His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for divine protection over his mind and body. The Lord is his shield and fortress, as Psalm 91:4 assures us, *"He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart."* May your son find rest in the shadow of the Almighty, knowing that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
For his sleep, we ask the Lord to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May the Lord fill his dreams with visions of hope, comfort, and the assurance of His unfailing love. We pray that as he lies down, the Lord will grant him sleep that is deep, restorative, and free from disturbance, just as it is written in Psalm 4:8, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."*
Father, we thank You that You are at work in your son’s life, bringing healing and restoration. We ask that You would surround him with Your angels, encamping around him to protect him in all his ways (Psalm 91:11). Strengthen him in body, soul, and spirit, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. Remind him that he is not alone, for You are with him always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).
We also lift you up, dear parent, as you stand in the gap for your son. May the Lord fill you with His peace and perseverance, knowing that your prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Finally, we declare that this season of suffering will be used for God’s glory. Just as Joseph’s trials led to God’s greater purpose (Genesis 50:20), we pray that your son’s story will be a testimony of God’s faithfulness and healing power. May he emerge from this stronger in faith, rooted in Christ, and filled with hope for the future.
