We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace as he sleeps. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know the enemy seeks to torment through fear and restless nights, but our God is greater. He is the God of all comfort, who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). He is the One who gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2), and we claim that promise over your son tonight.
The Scriptures remind us in 2 Timothy 1:7, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* The nightmares your son faces are not from the Lord—they are attacks from the enemy, meant to steal his peace and joy. But we stand firm on the authority of Jesus’ name, declaring that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over his mind, his dreams, and his rest, asking the Lord to replace every terrifying image with His perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also encourage you to speak life over your son daily. Remind him of who he is in Christ—a conqueror, more than a victor through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37). Encourage him to meditate on Scripture before sleep, perhaps verses like Psalm 4:8: *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Lord, alone make me live in safety."* The Word of God is a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105), even in the darkness of night.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to You. Lord, You see the wounds that no one else can see—the deep places where fear and trauma have taken root. We ask You to touch him with Your healing hand, to restore his mind and his emotions, and to flood his heart with Your peace. Break the power of every nightmare and replace them with dreams filled with Your love, Your light, and Your truth.
Lord, we pray for supernatural protection over him as he sleeps. Station Your angels around him, as You did for Elisha in 2 Kings 6:17, so that no evil may come near his dwelling. Let Your presence be a shield around him, and let Your glory fill his room. We rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and anxiety in the mighty name of Jesus, commanding them to flee and never return.
Father, we also ask for wisdom for his parents and those who care for him. Show them how to support him, how to pray for him, and how to lead him into Your freedom. Give them patience, strength, and unwavering faith as they trust You for his complete restoration.
We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful. You do not abandon Your children in their distress, but You draw near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare that Your healing power is at work in him even now, and we trust You to bring him into a place of wholeness and rest.
In the powerful and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear brother or sister. The Lord hears your prayers, and He is working even when we cannot see it. Keep speaking life, keep praying, and keep trusting in His promises. He will never leave your son nor forsake him (Deuteronomy 31:6). The battle belongs to the Lord, and the victory is already won through Christ Jesus.
