We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace as he rests. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know the enemy seeks to torment the minds of God’s children with fear and distress, but we stand firm in the truth that our God is greater. Scripture reminds us in **Psalm 34:17-18 (WEB)**, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your son is not forgotten—God sees his pain, and He is near to him in this struggle.
The nightmares that plague his sleep are not from the Lord, for **2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB)** declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* We rebuke the spirit of fear and torment in the name of Jesus, commanding these nightmares to cease and for the peace of Christ to guard his heart and mind. Let us also remember **Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB)**, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*
We pray that the Lord would surround your son with His angels, as **Psalm 91:11-12 (WEB)** promises: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* May the Lord fill his dreams with visions of His love, His truth, and His victory over every dark memory. Let the blood of Jesus cover his mind, cleansing and renewing it, and may the Holy Spirit bring deep, restorative sleep that refreshes his body, soul, and spirit.
Father, we ask that You would heal the wounds of trauma in his life—wounds that no one else may see but that You know intimately. Restore what has been broken, and let Your comfort be a balm to his soul. We declare **Isaiah 53:5 (WEB)** over him: *"But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."* By the stripes of Jesus, we claim healing for his mind and emotions.
We also encourage you, dear parent, to continue covering your son in prayer. Speak life over him, play worship music in his space, and remind him of God’s promises. If he is open to it, professional counseling grounded in biblical truth can also be a valuable tool for healing. Most importantly, keep pointing him to Jesus—the only One who can fully restore and redeem.
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son whom You love deeply. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch to be upon him—body, soul, and spirit. Break the power of PTSD over his life and replace his nightmares with Your peace. Let Your light shine so brightly in his mind that no darkness can remain. Surround him with Your angels, protecting him from every attack of the enemy. Fill his dreams with Your presence, Your love, and Your truth.
We rebuke the spirit of fear, torment, and anxiety in Jesus’ name, and we command these forces to flee. Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Restore his sleep, Lord, and renew his strength. Help him to trust You fully, knowing that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We believe that You are working all things together for his good, and we trust in Your perfect timing. May he wake each morning with a heart full of gratitude and a mind fixed on You. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
