Healing, protection, sleep

We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace as he battles the deep wounds of PTSD. The nightmares that torment him are not from God, for Scripture reminds us that *"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). We stand in agreement with you, declaring that the Lord will redeem his sleep, replacing terror with visions of His goodness, just as He promises in Joel 2:28: *"I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions."*

The trauma your son carries is a heavy burden, but we know that Jesus is the Great Physician, the One who *"heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). His mind and spirit need the supernatural touch of the Holy Spirit to renew and restore what has been shattered. We pray that the Lord will surround him with His angels, as Psalm 91:11-12 declares: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* May your son feel the tangible presence of God’s protection, even in the darkest hours of the night.

We also urge you to speak life over him daily, reminding him of the truth found in Isaiah 41:10: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Let him know that his identity is not found in his trauma but in Christ, who has already overcome the world (John 16:33). Encourage him to meditate on Scripture before sleep, filling his mind with God’s promises rather than the lies of fear. Playing worship music or audio Bible readings as he rests can also invite the peace of God to guard his heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we come before You now, interceding for this precious son. You see the depth of his pain, the sleepless nights, and the battles he fights even in his dreams. We ask You to stretch out Your hand and touch him with Your healing power. Break the chains of PTSD that bind his mind, and let Your perfect love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18). Fill his dreams with Your presence—let him see Your face, hear Your voice, and wake refreshed in the knowledge that You are his refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Protect him from the enemy’s attacks, for You have already disarmed every power and authority through the cross of Christ (Colossians 2:15). Restore his sleep, Lord, and let it be a time of renewal, not torment.

We also lift up this mother, who carries the weight of her son’s suffering. Strengthen her, Lord, and fill her with Your peace as she trusts You to work in his life. Give her the words to speak life and hope over him, and let her faith be a testimony of Your goodness. Bind this family together in unity and prayer, covering them with Your blood and Your truth.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression that seeks to steal this young man’s peace. We command those nightmares to cease, for *"greater is He who is in [him] than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). Let the blood of Jesus cleanse his mind and emotions, and let the Holy Spirit flood his heart with Your shalom—Your perfect, unshakable peace.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Let this season of struggle become a testimony of Your healing power, and let your son arise stronger, restored, and filled with the joy of Your salvation. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
