We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know the enemy seeks to torment through fear and restless nights, but our God is greater. He is the Prince of Peace, the One who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captive free. Your prayer is already aligned with the heart of God, and we stand in agreement with you, declaring victory over the darkness that has sought to steal your son’s rest.
The Scripture reminds us in **Psalm 34:17-18 (WEB)**, *“The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.”* Your son is not forgotten—God sees his pain, and He is near to him even now. We also claim **Psalm 4:8 (WEB)**, which declares, *“In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety.”* Let this be your son’s testimony: that the Lord guards his mind and body, replacing nightmares with visions of hope and restoration.
Yet we must also acknowledge that true and lasting peace is found only in Jesus Christ. If your son does not yet know Him as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him—that Jesus took upon Himself our sins, our pains, and our sorrows at the cross. **1 Peter 2:24 (WEB)** tells us, *“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.”* There is no healing apart from Christ. If he has strayed or hardened his heart, now is the time to turn to Jesus, for He alone can break the chains of trauma and fear.
We also encourage you to cover your son in prayer daily, speaking life and Scripture over him. Play worship music in his home, anoint his doorposts with oil as a symbol of God’s protection (Exodus 12:22-23), and remind him of **2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB)**: *“For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.”* Fear is not from the Lord, and it has no place in your son’s life.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son whom You love deeply. Lord, You are the God who heals, the One who restores what the locusts have eaten. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon his mind, body, and spirit. Break the power of PTSD over him—let every nightmare be silenced by Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Fill his dreams with Your presence, Lord, and let him wake refreshed, knowing You are with him.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and torment in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let him dwell in the secret place of the Most High (Psalm 91:1). Give him the strength to trust You fully, even in the darkest nights.
If there is any area of his life where he has not surrendered to You, Lord, convict his heart and draw him closer. Let this season of struggle lead him into a deeper relationship with You, where he finds his identity not in his pain, but in Your love. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37).
Father, we also ask for wisdom for his parents and loved ones. Show them how to support him in a way that points him to You. Let their home be a place of refuge, filled with Your Word and Your Spirit.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your timing. May Your will be done in his life, and may he rise up in victory, testifying of Your faithfulness. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
