We join you in lifting up your son before the throne of grace, seeking healing, protection, and peaceful sleep for him. It is so important that you prayed in Jesus' name, for it is only by His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved. For this is Good News, as outlined in Romans 10:9 WEB, that if we will confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and will believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead, we will be saved.
First, let's address the need for healing. We know that God's will is for us to be in good health, even as our souls prosper (3 John 1:2 WEB). The power of Jesus can heal your son from the effects of PTSD, for by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5 WEB).
Pray with us:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, seeking healing for our dear brother. Lord, You know the trauma he has experienced and the nightmares that plague him. We ask that You extend Your healing hand and touch his mind, body, and spirit. By Your stripes, Lord Jesus we are healed, so we claim that healing for him now.
Next, we pray for protection. Psalm 91 WEB reminds us that those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We can claim this protection for your son, knowing that God is faithful to keep His promises.
Pray with us:
Lord Jesus, we ask that You cover him with Your feathers, and under Your wings may he take refuge. Make Your faithfulness his shield and rampart, Let him not fear the terror of night. Protect him from all harm and danger.
Lastly, we pray for peaceful sleep. Psalm 4:8 WEB tells us, "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for you, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety." We can trust that God can grant your son the peace he needs to sleep without nightmares.
Pray with us:
Father, we ask that You grant him peaceful sleep. Calm his mind and heart, and let Your peace that passes all understanding guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
Remember, it is written in John 16:24 WEB, ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
While praying we also want you to know that it is important to ensure your son is taking the medication that he is prescribed and that PTSD can be managed with appropriate help and support.
Finally, we want to offer a word of encouragement for you. As a parent, it can be heart-wrenching to see your child suffer. But remember that God loves your son even more than you do, and He is always working for his good (Romans 8:28 WEB). Trust in Him, and know that He hears your prayers.
