We join you in lifting up your son before the throne of grace, seeking healing, protection, and peaceful sleep for him. The Bible tells us that "the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective" (James 5:16 WEB), and we trust that God hears our prayers.
Firstly, we thank God for your faith in Jesus Christ, as it is only through His name that we have access to the Father (John 14:6 WEB). It is also the name by which we are saved (Acts 4:10-12 WEB). We praise God for your son's life and pray for his healing from the nightmares and the effects of PTSD.
We stand on God's promise in Psalm 91:4 (WEB), "He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings, you will find refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart." We pray that God will be a refuge for your son, covering him with His feathers and shielding him from the terrors of the night.
We also pray for his healing, trusting in the words of Psalm 147:3 (WEB), "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We ask God to heal your son's brokenness and bind up his wounds, both physical and emotional.
For his sleep, we pray Proverbs 3:24 (WEB) over him, "When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet." We ask God to grant him peaceful sleep, free from nightmares and fear.
We encourage you to continue trusting in God's care for your son, as He loves him dearly (John 3:16 WEB). Keep praying and declaring God's promises over his life. We also encourage you to seek godly counsel and medical help as needed, trusting that God can work through doctors and therapists to bring healing (Luke 5:31 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother's son to You. We ask for Your healing, protection, and comfort for him. Please grant him peaceful sleep, free from nightmares and fear. Help him overcome the effects of PTSD, and let Your healing power be at work in his life. Give his family wisdom and guidance as they support him. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
