Healing, protection, guidance, and breakthrough

Your prayer for healing, protection, guidance and breakthrough is received with care and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord.

We ask God, who is the true physician of soul and body, to show His mercy toward you. We pray for healing according to His wisdom and love, for His protection to cover you each day, for His clear guidance to direct your steps, and for breakthrough where you face obstacles that only He can open. God hears those who call on Him through Jesus Christ and He does not grow weary in His care for us. Continue to seek Him with patience and trust, remaining near to His word and faithful in prayer.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we lift this need to You. Grant healing in body and soul as You will, surround this life with Your protection, give wisdom and understanding for every decision, and bring breakthrough according to Your perfect will. Strengthen faith, grant peace, and lead ever closer to Jesus Christ, through whom we have salvation and access to Your presence. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Your request for healing, protection, guidance and breakthrough has been received and we are praying with you in the name of Jesus.

We do believe that God heals today and that He is able. Scripture shows that Jesus healed in many different ways. Sometimes it was instantly, sometimes it was gradually, sometimes with a touch and sometimes only with a word, sometimes by going to the person and sometimes from a distance. There is no single pattern that He is bound to, and that reminds us that we cannot confine Him to one method.

It is also important to remember that all true healing is from God. He has built healing processes into our bodies, and when we recover slowly through those natural processes it is still His work, for He is the one who created nature itself. He also brings healing to the mind and emotions, mending wounds and scars that are not physical. Whether the work is immediate or unfolds over time, it is divine.

The Gospel of Matthew connects the healing ministry of Jesus to the prophecy in Isaiah chapter 53 verse 4, that He has borne our griefs and carried our sicknesses, where the word for griefs can also be understood as infirmities. Matthew applies that promise to physical sickness as well as to sin, and when Jesus broke bread and said this is my body which is broken for you, He was pointing to that complete work. We come to Him therefore with confidence that He cares about the sickness and infirmity of the body as well as the need of the soul.

At the same time there is much about healing we do not understand. We do not know why some are healed and others are not. To presume that God must will healing in every case is not scriptural. The apostle Paul prayed three times concerning his thorn in the flesh and God did not remove it. Not everyone is healed, and when healing does not come it is wrong to say it must be because of sin in a person's life or because of a lack of faith. That is a false and unkind judgment. We simply trust the wisdom and love of God where we cannot see His reasons, and we continue to pray.

Jesus never turned away those who came only seeking help for their sickness, and the healing often came as people released their faith to Him. Sometimes that faith had a point of contact, like touching the hem of His garment, but the power was always His. He has authority in the material realm, as when He calmed the wind and the sea, and authority in the spiritual realm over evil powers. He is able to protect, to guide, and to bring breakthrough.

So we pray for you now. May the Lord touch your body and bring healing according to His will, whether it be instant or through the gradual processes He has ordained, and may He heal also any wound of heart or mind. May He cover you with His protection, guarding you from harm and from the work of the enemy. May He give you clear guidance, leading you in the way you should go, and may He grant breakthrough where there has been hindrance and need. We ask this trusting in His goodness and power, and we leave the outcome in His loving hands, in Jesus name, amen.
