We come before the throne of grace with your requests, lifting them up in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is by His name alone that we are saved. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We are so grateful that you have called upon the name of Jesus in your request, for He is our Healer, Protector, and Provider.
Father God, we first ask for Your healing touch upon this dear one. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to restore health and strength. We pray for restful and rejuvenating sleep, that their body may be refreshed and renewed each night. Psalm 4:8 says, "In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety." Lord, grant them this peace and safety as they rest, knowing that You are watching over them.
We also pray for Your divine protection to surround them at all times. Guard them from all harm, danger, and evil. Psalm 91:11-12 assures us, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." We claim this promise over their life, Lord. Protect them from physical harm, spiritual attacks, and any plans the enemy may have to steal, kill, or destroy.
Father, we lift up their financial needs to You, trusting in Your provision. You know every detail of their situation, and we ask that You open the windows of heaven and pour out Your blessings upon them. The cry of a child pierces heaven more swiftly than the casual mumbling of those who know not their need. You ask for restful sleep, divine protection, and provision for the body’s necessities and the surgeon’s hand. In this threefold cord of petition, I hear the voice of one whom the Lord has taught to lean hard upon His arm. For it is Divine Sovereignty that brings His beloved into such straits where none can help but He. The worldling boasts of his independence, but the Lord’s own are often brought low to prove that He alone is their shield and exceeding great reward.
Consider sleep. You beg for it as a mercy, and rightly so. There is a sleep which God gives to His beloved, a sleep of contentment and security that the ungodly cannot know. The anxious merchant tosses upon his bed, for his gold is his god and it never whispers peace to his pillow. But the child of grace, having cast his burden upon the Lord, may close his eyes in the very teeth of the storm, knowing that the Keeper of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. Do not grasp for sleep as the world does, with fretting and vain remedies; sink into it as a gift, ceasing from your own striving. That gentle touch, that Divine love-pat which brings slumber, is near at hand for those who rest in Christ. Even if night follows night with wakefulness for a season, it is but the Shepherd’s tool to make the pasture of His presence sweeter when He grants the calm.
Yet while we pray for the body’s repose, we must beware of that other sleep which is a curse. “Let us not sleep, as do others.” While you seek the pillow for your weary frame, do not let your soul slumber in the stupor of unbelief or the lethargy of despair. To sink down in a kind of spiritual indifference over your temporal needs would be to sleep as the blacksmith’s dog under the anvil, heedless of the sparks of danger falling upon you. No, rouse yourself in faith. The sleepless night may be the watch-tower where the Lord speaks to you. The doctor’s knife and the empty purse are no accidents; they are His severe mercies, meant to hew away your reliance on the arm of flesh. The dry tree by Divine grace shall flourish; the green tree, deserted by the dew of heaven, shall dry up.
As for the provision for your medical needs, it is the manner of the Good Shepherd to care especially for the lame of the flock. You feel your weakness keenly, and that is a healthy sign. In the Divine economy, the more care you require, the more care you shall have. Our Lord Jesus Christ has laid down His life for you and is prepared to exercise all His Divine power and wisdom to bring you home. Would He purchase you with His blood, only to starve you or cast you off upon a sickbed? It cannot be. He knows that the poor limbs are weary; He knows the frame is but dust. Do not hesitate to test His promise which supplies not merely spiritual bread, but that which meets the body’s groaning need. The same hand that multiplied the loaves is not shortened today. If He sends you to the surgeon, do not fear that He will withhold the fee. Our Divine enterprise is no child’s play, and He will equip His soldiers amply.
Look to your Redeemer’s Covenant engagements; they are the strong tower to which you may run. You are His own by choice, by inheritance, by Divine gift, and by costly purchase. If you lack bread, if you lack healing, it is not because His storehouse has failed. It may be that He is stripping the green tree of its self-sufficiency to make you cling only to Him, the dry and seemingly dead tree of Calvary, where His strength was made perfect in weakness. The soul of the saint is found at once before the throne of grace, so let your prayers be importunate. Go to the throne not as a beggar who is uncertain of the King’s heart, but as one who knows the heart of the King and therefore begs with holy boldness.
I bid you, then, in the name of Jesus, take the sleep He gives as a rest after toil, a refreshment for your exhausted strength to fit you for fresh exercise of your faculties. Take the healing He sends, whether by miracle or by medicine, as a token of that coming morning when the sleep of death itself shall be a sweet resting in Jesus, unattended with dread. Until that hour, He is the shepherd and stone of Israel, who will not allow the drought by day or the frost by night to utterly consume you. Cease your calculations and trust His overruling hand. Hoard not up the treasure of earthly coin, for there is no shortage in the bank of heaven. Eat the honey of redeeming love, for there is enough and to spare. You ask for restful sleep, divine protection, and provision for your needs and medical treatments. But first consider what sleep truly requires vigilance. The prophet says, “He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” If you trust in this, your nights will be peaceful, for the peace of the body flows from a soul free from the fever of earthly cares. Yet there is a sleep more deadly, the slumber of the soul that does nothing good. Guard yourself, then, so that while your body rests, your spirit does not fall into the drowsiness of sin and forgetfulness of God. Be sober and watchful even as you lay down; do not let the drunkenness of anxiety or love of money disturb you, for riches are a dream and the present life a fleeting shadow.
As for your bodily health and the surgery you face, remember that the body is to be cared for, but not for the lusts of the flesh. Paul allowed Timothy a little wine for his stomach’s sake, so it is no sin to seek healing and provision for necessity. Yet do not let these concerns kindle a furnace of desire beyond what is needful. Entrust yourself to the spiritual surgery of the Church, where the wounds of the soul are healed; for if you come here with faith, the Great Physician will mend both inward and outward afflictions. Did not Paul and Silas, bound in the inner prison, find deliverance in the earthquake at midnight? God is able to break every chain and open every door for your provision and protection when you call on Him.
And concerning finances: make provision with simplicity. You are not poorer than the widow, nor more uninstructed than Peter and John. Use whatever talent you have, even one, for your needs and for the good of others. In your lack, let the poor be your companions; in your supply, clothe the naked from your table. When you lie down at night, think of how Jesus slept in the boat while a storm was tossing the waves over the bow. He rested so deeply that the raging sea did not wake Him until the disciples cried out. That same peace is available to you when you entrust yourself to the Father’s care. Ask the Lord to quiet your mind and set a guard around your sleep, for He watches over you like a shepherd who sleeps across the opening of the fold, so that nothing can reach the sheep except by passing over him. True rest comes from knowing you are held in that kind of protection.
As you face medical treatments and surgery, remember that all healing is ultimately divine. God established the wonderful processes within your body that mend and restore, and He often works through the hands of doctors and the remedies they provide. Sometimes He heals in one sudden touch, as when Peter’s mother-in-law rose and served after her fever broke. Other times He leads a gradual path to wholeness, first the blade, then the ear, then the full corn. In each case He is at work. The man born blind did not see instantly but was told to go wash, and as he obeyed, his sight came. Your journey through these treatments may be the very place where God’s power is displayed. Trust the process, and do not discount the possibility that you might actually sense His healing as you walk it out.
For financial provision, recall that God makes a way where there seems to be none. In the law He provided for the leper’s cleansing, a miraculous reversal of nature, and throughout the Scriptures He has supplied for the needy out of His abundance. Lay your practical concerns before Him and refuse to make provision for anxiety. He knows every bill, every meal, every procedure, and He is able to meet those needs through channels you might not expect. Rest in the promise that He cares for you.
And if the healing or the answer does not come on your timetable, do not lose heart. Paul prayed three times for the thorn in his flesh to be removed, yet God’s sufficient grace was the greater gift. That does not lessen His love. Jesus Himself bore your infirmities and carried your sorrows; by His wounds you are made whole, sometimes physically, sometimes deep within your emotions and mind, and always spiritually through the cleansing of sin. Whether the outward healing is dramatic or quiet, cling to the One who is your true provision.
May you feel His nearness as you sleep, wake refreshed by His mercies, and see His hand providing day by day. We stand with you, trusting the Lord who never fails.

The man born blind did not see instantly but was told to go wash, and as he obeyed, his sight came. Your journey through these treatments may be the very place where God’s power is displayed. Trust the process, and do not discount the possibility that you might actually sense His healing as you walk it out.
For financial provision, recall that God makes a way where there seems to be none. In the law He provided for the leper’s cleansing, a miraculous reversal of nature, and throughout the Scriptures He has supplied for the needy out of His abundance. Lay your practical concerns before Him and refuse to make provision for anxiety. He knows every bill, every meal, every procedure, and He is able to meet those needs through channels you might not expect. Rest in the promise that He cares for you.
And if the healing or the answer does not come on your timetable, do not lose heart. Paul prayed three times for the thorn in his flesh to be removed, yet God’s sufficient grace was the greater gift. That does not lessen His love. Jesus Himself bore your infirmities and carried your sorrows; by His wounds you are made whole, sometimes physically, sometimes deep within your emotions and mind, and always spiritually through the cleansing of sin. Whether the outward healing is dramatic or quiet, cling to the One who is your true provision.
May you feel His nearness as you sleep, wake refreshed by His mercies, and see His hand providing day by day. We stand with you, trusting the Lord who never fails.
