We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, knowing that our Heavenly Father is the Great Physician and the Prince of Peace. Your prayer is a beautiful example of a parent’s love and faith, and we stand with you in agreement, trusting in God’s power to bring healing, comfort, and rest to your son.
The struggles of PTSD are real and deeply painful, but we know that God is greater than any trauma or fear. Scripture reminds us in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your son is not forgotten—God sees his pain and is near to him in this battle. We also take hold of **Psalm 4:8**, which declares, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."* Let us claim this promise over him, asking the Lord to guard his mind and fill his nights with divine peace instead of tormenting memories.
It is also encouraging to see that you prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and receive the promises of healing and deliverance. **John 14:13-14** assures us, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* Your prayer is powerful because it is rooted in the authority of Jesus’ name, and we thank you for acknowledging that truth.
We also want to encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer, speaking life and Scripture over him. The enemy may seek to steal his peace through nightmares, but we have the victory in Christ. **2 Timothy 1:7** reminds us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Let us pray that your son would walk in this truth, that fear would be replaced by the perfect love of Christ, which casts out all fear (**1 John 4:18**).
If your son has not yet placed his full trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him. True and lasting peace comes only through a personal relationship with Jesus. **Romans 10:9** tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* Salvation is the foundation for all healing, and we pray that if your son does not yet know Christ, he would surrender his heart to Him today.
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to You. Lord, You are the God who heals, the One who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon him, body, mind, and spirit. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and torment that has plagued his sleep, and we command peace to flood his mind and heart in the name of Jesus. Let Your love surround him like a shield, guarding him from the attacks of the enemy.
Lord, we pray that You would restore his sleep, that his nights would be filled with Your presence and Your dreams. Replace every nightmare with visions of Your goodness and mercy. Let him wake refreshed, renewed, and strengthened in You. If there are any areas of unforgiveness, bitterness, or unresolved pain in his heart, we ask that You would bring them to the surface and heal them by Your grace. Help him to release everything into Your hands, trusting You as his Redeemer and Restorer.
Father, we also pray that if this son does not yet know You personally, You would draw him to Yourself. Soften his heart to receive Your love and salvation. Let him encounter Jesus in a real and transformative way, so that his life would be built on the unshakable foundation of Your truth.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your timing. May Your will be done in his life, and may Your name be glorified through his healing. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking God’s Word over your son, and trusting that the Lord is working even when you cannot see it. Keep covering him in prayer, and if possible, seek godly counsel or support groups that can walk with him through this season. You are not alone—we are standing with you, and most importantly, God is with you both. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (**Joshua 1:9**).
