Lord, please heal my mum after a fall. She has back and arm and shoulder pain. Please Lord heal her and make her pain free again.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your dear mother in prayer. The pain she is enduring after her fall is not unseen by our Heavenly Father, who is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We know that physical suffering can weigh heavily on both the body and the soul, and we stand in agreement with you, asking for God’s healing touch to restore her completely.
Father God, we ask You to stretch forth Your healing hand upon this precious mother. Your Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says the Lord. We claim this promise over her life. Lord, we pray that You would mend every strained muscle, every bruised bone, and every inflamed nerve. Bring relief to her back, shoulder, and arm, and let her experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We ask that You would guide the hands of any doctors or caregivers attending to her, that they may be instruments of Your healing.
We also recognize that pain can sometimes lead to fear or doubt, so we pray that You would strengthen her faith. Remind her that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let her rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28), even in this season of discomfort.
If there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in her heart, we pray that You would bring it to light so that she may receive complete healing in spirit, soul, and body. Your Word tells us in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." We trust in Your mercy and grace to cover her completely.
We also encourage you, as her loved one, to continue praying fervently and to speak life and healing over her, just as the woman with the issue of blood reached out in faith and was made whole (Mark 5:34). Let your faith be a testimony to her, and may she feel the love of Christ through your care and prayers.

While we lift her up together, we also want to gently encourage you to make sure she’s been seen by a doctor if she hasn’t yet. Shoulder and back pain after a fall can sometimes point to an injury that needs attention, and getting it checked doesn’t take anything away from our trust in God’s healing, we pray and care for the body at the same time. In the meantime, as you wait, your steady presence and compassion are themselves a gift to her.
We join you in asking the Lord to ease her pain, restore her strength, and bring her back to comfortable movement. And we ask that He give you peace as you stand beside her, trusting His nearness even when the healing isn’t immediate.

How often the pains of the body drive us to the Physician of souls! Your dear mother has suffered a fall, and the aching shoulder, back, and arm cry out for relief. Yet, blessed be God, the leaves of the Tree of Life are for healing, and the least thing about our Lord Jesus has virtue in it. He whose touch raised Peter’s wife’s mother from her fever can lay His hand upon your mother and lift her up. The Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and no case is too hard for Him. Let us plead the promise together, falling flat upon it, for He binds up the broken in heart and makes an end to mourning. Trust Him for temporal healing, and even more, look to Him who forgives all iniquities and heals all diseases. While we pray for her body, may this trial be the means of drawing her nearer to Christ, that whether in pain or in ease, she may glorify Him. The Lord grant her speedy restoration and make her pain free, according to His gracious will. Amen.

You ask healing for your mother’s body, and this is a natural and loving request. The Lord sees her pain, and He is not indifferent to the suffering of His creatures. But let us not stop at the body. For if we only seek release from present distress, we act like those who demand a sign, yet harden their hearts when the word of God comes. Faith comes by hearing, not by seeing wonders, but by receiving the message that turns the soul from death. So while we pray, let us also listen. Affliction is often the medicine our souls most need, a bitter draught that cleanses inward corruption. I do not speak to wound you without cause, but as a physician must sometimes give pain to save a limb, so the preacher must press hard to save a soul. Endure the sting, then, for your good.
Consider whether this fall has not been permitted that your mother, and you, might turn more earnestly to the One who heals both body and soul. The pain of the shoulder and back is real; I do not diminish it. But let it serve as a goad to seek the rest that does not fade, the rest into which we must strive to enter, lest anyone fall through the same example of unbelief. Too many cry out for bodily ease while neglecting the disease of sin, which racks the conscience far worse. And what will they do on that day when no brother, no mother, can redeem, but each receives according to his works?
Do not think I lack compassion. I burn with desire that both she and you escape the torments which are not temporary but eternal. That is why I speak plainly. Pray, yes, with tears and persistence. But in your prayers, say also: “Lord, heal her body if it be Your will, but whatever You do, heal her soul. And if this suffering remains, grant her patience, and teach us both to love You more than comfort.” For sometimes God withholds the lesser gift to bestow the greater. He casts out that He may draw to Himself.
I do not ask everything at once. Receive these words as from a partner in the faith, a fellow-servant who trembles at the judgment. Let the pain of hearing now spare you the pain of that reality. Brace up your own soul, and whisper these truths gently to your mother. Let her bed of pain become an altar of repentance and trust. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted; He will not despise a contrite heart. May He grant her relief according to His mercy, and may this trial become for you both the beginning of a deeper healing that no fall can undo.
