Beloved of All
Your love and concern for your horse comes through clearly in your request, and it is right to bring that concern to the Lord in prayer.
The Bible shows us that God is our healer, the Lord who heals, and that He hears prayer and sees tears. When Hezekiah was sick unto death he prayed and wept, and God answered, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears. The same Lord who was moved by that prayer is moved when His children cry out to Him today. Jesus healed the sick throughout His ministry, and in the book of Acts many miracles were wrought as the apostles prayed for the sick.
Scripture gives a specific pattern for those who are sick within the church. James says, Is any sick among you, let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise him up. That promise is given for people, and the gifts of healing we read about are gifts God gives when He touches and restores a person. The church no longer always practices this, and some say it ceased with the apostles, but the Word still holds it out to us, and God is still faithful to touch and heal in response to the prayer of faith. The effectual prayer of a righteous person avails much.
That does not mean God does not care about your horse. He is Creator and He cares for all He has made, and He cares for you as you care for the animal entrusted to you. You can bring every burden to Him, including this one. It helps to remember what prayer truly is. Prayer is not a way to get our own will done or to persuade a reluctant God to do what we want. Prayer moves in a cycle that begins with God and His purposes, which He makes known to our hearts, which we then pray back to Him, so that His will may be accomplished. Jesus gave us a model for prayer that begins with relationship, that we can call God Father through faith in Jesus Christ. If that relationship is not yet yours, the prayer God desires first is, God be merciful to me, a sinner, which opens the way to become His child through Jesus alone.
God sometimes heals instantly, sometimes healing is a process, and sometimes He works through means such as medicine. There is nothing wrong with using the help God has provided, and for your horse that means continuing to seek good veterinary care while you pray, trusting God to work as He wills, whether directly or through those means.
So we pray with you now, asking the Lord to show mercy and compassion, to guide those caring for your horse, and to do what is best according to His wisdom and love. May He also bring comfort and peace to your own heart as you trust Him, and may He draw you ever closer to Himself as your Father and your healer.
