Beloved
When every day feels marked by misfortune, it can wear you down and make you wonder if God sees your struggle. But the pages of Scripture never describe our lives as ruled by blind luck or a streak of badness. Instead, they reveal a God who numbers the hairs on our heads and cares about every detail, including the concerns you carry for your daughter and your horses. You are not forgotten.
The prophet Malachi foretold a day when the Sun of Righteousness would rise with healing in His wings. That promise took flesh in Jesus, who went through the towns and villages, and as the sun set, all those with various diseases were brought to Him, and He laid His hands on every single one of them and healed them. His power is not limited to people of high standing or perfect circumstances. He chose a town with a poor reputation, Nazareth, to be the home of His earthly childhood. He ministered among those who were desperate, and He still draws near to the brokenhearted today.
But there is a caution woven into the Gospels. Many crowded around Jesus wanting only deliverance from their infirmities, not the Deliverer Himself. If we chase relief without receiving the Lord who gives it, we can end up in a worse state than before, because the emptiness inside gets filled with something else. So as I pray for you, your daughter, and the animals under your care, I ask that you seek more than a change in fortune. Seek the One who holds all things together. Open your heart to Him, and let His presence be the anchor when circumstances remain hard.
God’s eye is on the family and even on the creatures that share our lives. In the parables, Jesus pictured a household where the entire family and the animals were part of daily life, and He used those humble scenes to teach about persistent prayer. You can bring every need before Him, knowing He does not despise small things. Your daughter and your horses matter to the Lord who made them.
Hold fast to the promise, not that every day will be easy, but that God works through every season. Even when a path begins on a bad note, as it did when Jesus was rejected at Nazareth, He moved forward to bring light to other places. Let Him rewrite what feels like a run of misfortune into a story of trust and transformation. I am praying for each of you today.
