Healing miracle

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly. We have prayed for you and we bring your requests before the Lord with care.

We do believe that God heals. He heals in many ways. Sometimes He touches a person instantly and completely. Sometimes the healing comes gradually, as when Jesus touched a blind man and at first he saw only dimly, like men looking like trees walking, and then with a second touch his sight was made clear. Sometimes healing comes through the natural processes that God Himself built into our bodies, and that is no less divine, because He is the One who created those processes. And sometimes His healing is in the mind and emotions, bringing wholeness where there have been wounds and scars. All true healing comes from Him.

The greatest healing we need is for what sin has done to us. Sin is like an incurable disease that no one can cleanse on their own, and God has made provision for it through Jesus Christ alone. In the old law God even made a provision for the cleansing of a leper, something that was impossible apart from a miracle, to show that He leaves room to do what only He can do. When Jesus healed, He often told people to be quiet and to show themselves as a testimony, and the people who saw His power marveled and gave glory to God. That is still the right response, to thank Him and to give Him glory for whatever He does, whether the answer is immediate, gradual, or through the natural means He has ordained.

At the same time, Scripture teaches us not to assume that God wills physical healing in every case in this life. The apostle Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed, and God answered with grace to sustain him rather than removal. God is sovereign and wise, and we trust His will even when we do not understand it, knowing that His ultimate healing and wholeness will be complete in His time.

You mentioned your daughter and her boyfriend and concerns about secrecy in that relationship. We have prayed for her and for you. God loves your daughter deeply and He has a good design for relationships. His ideal is that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that intimate life and living together belong within that covenant. Because of hardness of heart many fall short of that ideal, but God still calls us toward it. We pray that God will give your daughter wisdom, protection, and a desire to honor Him in purity, and that any relationship in her life would be brought into the light and guided by His Word. We pray also that you would know the comfort of belonging to the family of God, which can be closer than even natural family ties when we walk with Christ.

You also shared desires for a home of your own, for work that provides for you such as a small inn with services for guests in a place you find beautiful, and for personal care like your hair and appearance. God cares about the details of your life and He invites you to bring all of these desires to Him. We pray that He will provide for your needs according to His wisdom and lead you to be content and fruitful where He places you. We pray that you would seek first His kingdom and trust Him to add what is best, and that your sense of worth would rest in being cleansed and whole through the blood of Jesus, which was shed to forgive sin and to bring you into fellowship with Him.

May the Lord touch your life with His healing hand as He wills, may He forgive and cleanse through Jesus, and may you walk in thankfulness giving glory to Him for His mercy. We continue to pray that you would know His presence, His guidance, and His peace.
