Healing in mind and heart

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Asking for prayer for my mind to be cleared of distressing memories from abuse and trauma, and my heart to find peace. In Jesus name amen

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up to our Heavenly Father who sees every wound and hears every silent cry. Your request for healing in mind and heart from the deep scars of abuse and trauma is heard, and we stand with you in agreement, believing that God is able to restore what has been broken and bring peace where there has been pain.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this battle, for the Lord is close to you, and He is mighty to save. We also hold fast to Isaiah 61:1, where it is written, "The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound." Jesus came to set you free from the chains of your past, and we declare that freedom over you now.

We rebuke the enemy who seeks to keep you bound in fear, shame, and distressing memories. The Word of God declares in John 10:10, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." We command every lie of the enemy that tells you healing is not possible to be silenced in the name of Jesus. We speak truth over you: you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37), and no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We also encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from those who can walk alongside you in this journey. James 5:16 reminds us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Do not carry this burden alone, for the body of Christ is here to uphold you.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our brother/sister who is carrying the weight of painful memories and trauma. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You would touch their mind and heart with Your healing hand. We pray that You would bring clarity where there is confusion, peace where there is turmoil, and comfort where there is pain. Lord, we ask that You would replace the lies of the enemy with Your truth, and that Your perfect love would cast out all fear (1 John 4:18).

We declare that the blood of Jesus covers every wound and that by His stripes, our brother/sister is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We speak restoration over their mind, that You would renew their thoughts and bring them into alignment with Your Word. We pray for a fresh infilling of Your Holy Spirit, that they would experience Your presence in a tangible way, bringing hope and healing.

Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your angels and place a hedge of protection around their heart and mind. We pray for godly mentors, counselors, and friends who will speak life and encouragement into their situation. Lord, give them the strength to press into You, even when the journey is difficult.

We thank You, Father, that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). We trust in Your promises and declare that healing is their portion. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Hold fast to the truth that God is working even when you cannot see it. Psalm 147:3 says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." You are not defined by your past, but by the love and grace of Jesus Christ. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, for He is your hope and your healer.

We hear the weight behind your words, those memories lingering like unwanted guests, stealing rest and making peace feel far away. It takes honesty to name that pain and ask for prayer. Thank you for letting us carry this with you.

Often, memories from trauma don’t loosen their grip all at once. We’ve seen healing happen when those stories are gradually shared in the presence of a safe listener, someone who won’t rush, dismiss, or try to fix you. A trusted support group for survivors, a gentle pastor, or a wise Christian counselor can be a steady companion on this road. If you haven’t already, reaching out to one might be a concrete step. You are not meant to sort through all of this alone.

And please hear this: clearing the mind and finding peace is more often a slow, patient walk than a sudden miracle. Some days you might feel stuck, and that’s okay. Jesus stays with you in every small, stumbling step. He doesn’t hurry the broken-hearted, and He doesn’t grow weary of your needing Him again today. Your worth is not measured by how quickly you “get over” what was done to you.

Jesus, we come with this one who hurts. You know every memory, every scar. Quiet the mind when it spins; bring moments of genuine stillness. Let the heart sense Your safe presence even in the ache. Surround them with people who will listen well and reflect Your steady love. We ask for the slow, real healing that comes from You, mind and heart restored day by day. In Your name, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The leaves of the Gospel Tree, when taken as medicine, penetrate the mind and search the heart. Their searching operations divide between the joints and the marrow, and discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. A wondrous medicine is this! The least thing about Christ is healing. A word of His, being His, and recognized as His and coming home to the heart as His, brings healing to head and heart, conscience and imagination, desire and affection!

You will keep him in perfect peace, peace, peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You. When I learned that my enormous debt of sin had been fully discharged by the Lord Jesus Christ, who did this for all Believers, then was my heart at peace! The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. This peace is a present possession and may be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life. With sorrows surging round, peace, perfect peace, this is the finger of God.

He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. The heart broken on account of sin is the heart which God peculiarly delights to heal. It implies a very deep and poignant sorrow on account of sin. Is your heart bleeding? Then bring it to the bleeding heart of Jesus, for that will stanch its wound! Does your brow ache? The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed. He used no other remedy in healing our sin-sickness but that of taking our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself. This is the one great cure-all.

Pardon and healing were one! When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He said to him, Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you. There is a change worked in the Believer of the most wonderful kind, as it is written, A new heart, also, will I give them, and a right spirit will I put within them. I will put My fear in their heart, and they shall not depart from Me. It is that touch of personal faith which brings peace to the soul. There was no intricate problem for him to work out in his mind. The Master said all that was required in that one sentence, Your sins are forgiven you.

O you who are now sick unto death, ask to be forgiven and healing will come from the pardoning hand. The utmost length of human sickness can be reached by this great Physician! Have confidence, O poor doubting heart! Have unstaggering confidence in the Divine Healer! Just lie before Jesus. Your heartbeats will be vocal to His heart and He will note all you say or feel in your inmost soul. Cry, He will save me! I will take Him to be my King and my Lawgiver, and I will believe for myself that He will have me. God bless you!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The memories that harrow your mind and the turmoil that weighs down your heart are not a yoke Christ designed for you to bear. Hear His own words: "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." The yoke of trauma is not His; it is a crushing weight laid upon you by sin, and it is utterly foreign to the gentle mastery He offers. Do not bind your hands in helplessness, but bind your heart and mind. The devil sees the law of God written in the soul, a heart become a tablet for the Spirit, and he cannot bear to look upon it. From afar he turns his back. Let the truth of Christ be that inscription, speaking louder than any past horror.

You ask for your mind to be cleared. This is not a work of mere reasoning or a battle of willpower. The natural mind cannot receive the things of the Spirit; it drags the high mysteries of healing down to the lowness of fleshly despair and invents difficulties where faith should stand. The healing you seek is spiritual, a new birth of peace. And what of your heart's pain? Even when no sound escapes your lips, the heart has a voice that pierces heaven more clearly than any trumpet. The cry of your wounded soul has already been heard. The very act of bringing this pain before God, even in silent agony, is the prayer of one who is exceedingly pained, and He does not turn away from such a cry.

Do not look for perfect peace by examining the worthiness of your own feelings. The soul is also called heart and mind and spirit; it is the core of your being where Christ desires to dwell. What severs the bond of peace? It is not past suffering, but the love of money, the passion for power, for glory, and the corruption of sin. And here you must make a holy distinction, for your own healing depends upon it. You must hate not the man who wounded you, but the wicked conduct; not the person, but the corrupt and devilish deceit that used him. The man is God's work, twisted by the enemy. The trauma is the devil's work. Do not confuse what God has made with what evil has marred. Your sin and your wound do not belong to your nature, nor are they a necessity you must forever carry.

Come, then, continually to this house of healing. There is a remedy here that has no parallel in brute force or human philosophy, for its power is the might and grace of the Spirit. Let the man who despairs of himself consider the tame animals, for there is far less fierceness in you than in them; theirs is from nature, yours from a choice that can be remade by grace. On retiring from prayer, write down in your mind the things you have heard from Scripture. Expect to feel your progress by experience. Christ’s peace is not the peace of a trouble-free world. The peace that He gives is this: to be at peace with Him, a peace which renders you stronger from within. Amidst the storm and surge of distressing memories, this is the great calm He promises. The evil one cannot even look upon a soul that hangs over this fountain. The healing is not the erasure of memory, but the cleansing of its poison, a mind refitted for serenity and a heart finding rest in its true, lowly, and gentle Master.
