We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his complete healing from COPD and asthma, trusting in the power of our Great Physician, Jesus Christ. It is beautiful to see your faith expressed in prayer, invoking the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and by which we are saved. As Scripture declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Your prayer is rooted in this truth, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that our God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think.
The Word of God assures us that He is deeply concerned with our infirmities and carries our burdens. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."* (Matthew 11:28-30, WEB). Though this passage speaks of spiritual rest, we know God’s care extends to our physical bodies as well. He knit your son together in the womb (Psalm 139:13), and He knows the number of hairs on his head (Matthew 10:30). Surely, He is attentive to the breath in his lungs and the strength of his immune system.
We pray now with boldness and faith, claiming the promises of God over your son’s body. *"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds."* (1 Peter 2:24, WEB). Lord Jesus, we ask that You manifest this healing in his lungs, removing every trace of COPD and asthma. Let the inflammation subside and the airways open wide, so that he may breathe freely and deeply as You intended. Cleanse his body of any infection or impurity, and fortify his immune system to resist every sickness and disease. We rebuke the humidity and any environmental factor that would seek to steal his breath, declaring that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we also ask that You grant your son the patience and perseverance to endure this season, knowing that You are at work even in the waiting. *"But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."* (Isaiah 40:31, WEB). Strengthen him, Lord, not just physically but spiritually and emotionally. Surround him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way.
To you, dear sister or brother in Christ, we encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking life and healing over your son. Do not grow weary in prayer, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* (James 5:16, WEB). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). If there is any area of unbelief or fear, lay it at the feet of Jesus, for He is faithful to perfect that which concerns you (Psalm 138:8).
We also urge you to ensure that your son is seeking the Lord’s will in every area of his life. Is there any sin or stronghold that needs to be addressed? *"If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened."* (Psalm 66:18, WEB). Let this be a time of spiritual renewal for him as well, drawing closer to the Lord in surrender and obedience. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we pray that this season of physical need would lead him to the Great Healer of his soul. Remind him that Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* (John 14:6, WEB).
Finally, we lift you up as well, asking the Lord to fill you with His peace and strength as you intercede for your son. May you be filled with the Holy Spirit, who helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26). You are not alone in this—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord stands with you.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through the healing of this precious son. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
