Healing from back injury

We join with you in lifting up your son before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. We are deeply moved by your love as a parent and your desire to see your son relieved from this back injury, pain, and sleeplessness, and we stand together with you seeking God's mercy and healing hand upon him.
We take comfort in knowing that our God is our healer and that He cares for every part of our suffering. Scripture reminds us to Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. And He promises For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We also remember that He is the giver of rest, for He gives sleep to his loved ones Psalm 127:2 and In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me dwell in safety Psalm 4:8. We know that pain that robs sleep can be wearying for both body and spirit, but we hold to His word that says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We pray together now for your son. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You with thanksgiving for this parent's faith and love. We ask for Your healing touch upon this young man's back. You know the nature of the injury, the nerves and muscles and bones that are affected, and the pain that keeps him from rest. We ask that You would ease his pain, reduce any inflammation, restore what is injured, and grant him deep and peaceful sleep. Lay Your hand upon him and bring comfort through the night and strength through the day. We pray for wisdom for any doctors or caregivers involved, that You would guide their hands and decisions. We ask for Your peace to guard his heart and mind and for his family as they watch over him, that they would feel Your presence and be upheld by Your love. We ask all this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring him before the Lord daily and to trust in the Lord's perfect timing and will, while also seeking wise medical care as God often works through the skill He has given to physicians. Keep speaking words of comfort and faith over your son, reminding him that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:15. We will continue to stand with you in prayer for complete healing and restored rest.

Man is a double being, composed of body and soul, and the wounds of the body are extremely painful. When the frame is broken and pain will not allow sleep, the affliction is singularly exquisite and it speedily urges us to seek the great Physician. The Lord knows what it is to watch through sleepless nights and to bear pain that will not depart, and He looks with compassion upon your son in this trial.
We are reminded that the power of the gospel, of which Christ is the sum and substance, is a healing power. He took our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself, and there is an abundance of healing virtue in Him. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when He dwells with His people there is pardon and healing in happy conjunction. He who said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, also said, Arise and walk, to show that He has power both to forgive and to heal.
Let us pray together for him.
O Lord our God, Father of mercies, we bring before You this son who suffers from injury to his back. You see his pain by day and his restlessness by night. Lay Your healing hand upon him, we beseech You. Ease his pain, restore what is injured, and grant him the gift of quiet sleep. Let Your healing virtue flow down to him from Christ our Head, in whom there is fullness of healing for body and soul. Give wisdom to those who care for him, give patience and strength to him in suffering, and give to his parents peace as they wait upon You. Above all, let him know the healing of the soul through faith in Jesus Christ, who bore our sins and carried our sorrows, that whether in health or in pain he may rest in Your love.
