I hear the weight of a mother's heart in your request, and I want to lift your son before the throne of grace with you. When pain steals sleep and every hour feels stretched thin, it is a relief to know that we are not crying into a void. The Scriptures remind us that our God sees our affliction and hears our cry. So many parents in the pages of the Bible named their children out of that very hope, declaring that the Lord had looked upon them, that He had listened in their distress. Your prayer for healing is that same kind of call, anchored in the name of Jesus, and He does not ignore it.
Think of the man who was lame for thirty-eight years, lying by the water, unable to move when the surface stirred. He had no one to help him into the pool, yet Jesus came to him without his ever asking. The Son of God spoke a single command, and his legs carried him as though they had never known weakness. That same authority that restored motion and strength on that Sabbath has not diminished. The works Jesus performed were never just random displays of power; they were signs that the Father had sent His beloved Son into the world to undo what sin and brokenness have done. Your son’s ###, this ### that causes him such pain and drives away sleep, is not beyond the reach of the One who formed the spine and knows every nerve.
I think too of the father in the parable who watched the road for his lost boy. The son had walked away by his own choice, but the father’s love never stopped longing to restore him. When the son finally stumbled home, unworthy in his own eyes, the father wrapped him in a robe, put sandals on his feet, and called for a feast. That is the picture of the Father’s heart toward us in Christ. You are not presenting a request to a reluctant God. You are coming to a Father who gave His only begotten Son so that you and your son could be called His children. Because Jesus took on flesh, lived perfectly, died, and rose again, we have been adopted into the family. His Spirit now dwells in every believer, crying out, “Abba, Father.” That intimate access is yours in this moment.
Pain has a way of making the night feel endless. The proverb says that when we sleep, the father’s commandment will keep us, and when we awake, it will talk with us. That promise is for those who hold fast to the wisdom that comes from above. I pray that as your son lies down, even now, even in discomfort, the peace of Christ will guard his mind. I pray that the gift of sleep will return, not as a fleeting lapse in suffering, but as a testimony that the God who never slumbers is watching over him. The Scripture cannot be broken. God is not a man that He should lie. He has spoken healing promises, and He will honor His word.
Let me leave you with the same question Jesus put to the man born blind after He healed him: “Do you believe on the Son of God?” The man answered, “Who is He, Lord, that I might believe?” Jesus said, “You have seen Him, and He is the one talking with you.” That encounter changed everything. The same living Christ is interceding for your son right now, sharing in the pain of every sleepless hour because He knows what it is to suffer in the flesh. Keep looking to Him. I am joining my faith with yours for a complete restoration, strength returned, pain gone, and restful nights that speak of His mercy. He has inscribed your son’s need on the very hands that were pierced for us. Trust those hands to hold him safely through this trial and to bring him out whole.
