Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your burden for your mother. We are praying for her and for you, and we hear how heavy this has been as you watch her suffer with constant stomach pain, weight loss, and difficulty eating, and as fear has pressed in on you.
The Scripture calls God the God of all comfort. That means He is the One who draws near to those who mourn and to those who are cast down and discouraged. In the darkest hours, when affliction is deep and strength is gone, He stands by to comfort, to strengthen, and to encourage. We are asking Him to do that for your mother, to lift her out of pain and weakness and to surround her with His presence, and to do that for you as well as you feel downcast and afraid. His comfort is not distant. It is personal, and He gives consolation and compassion through Christ and through the fellowship of His Spirit.
We are also praying for her healing. The Bible reveals the Lord as the One who heals, and it shows Jesus in the Gospels touching and healing many who were sick and afflicted, showing His power over every infirmity. One prophet writes that for those who revere His name, the Sun of Righteousness will arise with healing in His wings. That healing is part of His mercy toward those who look to Him in reverent trust. We are asking the Lord to touch your mother, to heal the root cause of what is affecting her stomach and her ability to eat, to restore her strength, and if it is His will to show that no cancer or terminal illness is present. We pray with faith that reaches out to Him, as those who came to Jesus in great need and would not leave until they received His help.
Above all we are praying for her salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is comfort and life that only He can give. To fear the Lord in the biblical sense is not to live in terror that He wants to hurt us, but to live in awe and reverence before Him, to love what He loves and to turn from what He hates, because we love Him and do not want to grieve Him. That reverence is the beginning and the sum of true wisdom, and it leads us to put our trust fully in Jesus as Savior. We are asking that the Lord open her heart to that reverent trust, that she would put her faith in Christ and know the forgiveness and peace that come only through Him, and that you would be strengthened to keep bringing her to Him in prayer.
We pray now, Father, in the name of Jesus, for this dear mother who is in pain and has lost weight and cannot eat well. Lay Your healing hand upon her. Work at the root of this illness and bring restoration to her body. Comfort her deeply in her sadness and hurting, quiet her heart with Your presence, and reveal Yourself to her as Savior so that she may know Your mercy from generation to generation. Comfort also her child who is fearful and heavy hearted. Lift this burden of fear and replace it with reverent trust and peace as they look to You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who is our only hope of salvation and our healer. Amen.
